School

I can't believe school starts back this month (Aug). Not till the end of the month mind you but the summer sure did fly by. This semester my classes are white collar crime and human behavior. I do have the same teacher for one of them so that's cool because he's really nice and does a great job. Mondays and Tuesdays, both late classes because sometimes I tend to oversleep and I'd hate to miss school unintentionally. I mean it's different if I don't go for whatever reason but by accident? That'd suck. I swear I'll get my bachelor's sometime. I've been considering taking summer classes next year but it'll depend on how often you have to go since I don't want to get burned out.

Cisco IT Learning Center

Cisco certification has a great program where you can learn an exciting IT career. There is a very high demand for competent people in the IT field and you can get started right there at Cisco. Learning the IT business can open up a world of other careers in many more industries than you think. Information technology is a business that can get you started to becoming an expert in your field.

I looked at their different certifications to see which one is right for me. They offer four different levels: entry, associate, professional and expert. Obviously, I’d be in the entry-level certification since I don’t have any background in the IT field as of yet. The entry-level position is called the CCENT certification, which stands for Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician. Candidates must already have knowledge to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, which means you must already have some skill before you can begin.

Think about the doors this could open for you. Cisco even has a career center that shows the many certifications and what type of job is associated with that particular certification. You can find just about anything you wish to on their site when it comes to IT certification. I have a friend who is an IT tech and I see how his career has progressed. I think it might just be something to look into for myself. He’s traveled all over the world with his job, which is an IT tech for the United States Navy and no, he’s not in the Navy, he’s a civilian. Imagine getting to do something like that!

Finally caught him doing it!

Okay, my blog isn't all about my dogs but we finally caught Blitz doing the weird thing with his toys. He'll zone out, his eyes will half close, his paws do this milking thing and he has his mouth on the toy. I think it's like the toy is his mother. Anyway, we finally got a few pictures tonight. I wanted to share our strange dog.

Things and movies

Saw The Dark Knight Monday and it was awesome. I never liked Batman until Christian Bale came along and well, Heath Ledger was brilliant, just brilliant. Also got to see the trailer for the new Terminator movie the Christian Bale is in. I do love me some Terminator movies.

My toe is throbbing ever so often. Hopefully it clears up lest I have to get it checked out.

Work has been sort of slow but at least I have you know who. (ends in N-D-Y) That does help out quite a bit. Fain is still a go with the websites so I'll stop complaining. Weird thing is that with work being semi-slow, the freelance stuff has really picked up. That's a great thing at least and I do enjoy doing it.

Borders sent me a 40% off DVD movies coupon so I ordered The Lost Boys and RENT on Blu-Ray. Yay! I love those two movies and that just means R has to watch RENT with me again since we always watch the HD or Blu-Ray movies that come in. I'm sly aren't I?

That's it for now. I have to be up early tomorrow and y'all know how I loathe that!

My feet's days are numbered

What is it with me and foot injuries? Most of you know how often I have some sort of injury like a broken toe or a fracture. Well, this weekend I had two mishaps. I was at a drugstore and went to get a case of Cokes when the rest of the display fell on my sandal-clad foot. That wasn't so bad. Today I go to get up from my desk and kicked it by accident (same foot) and cut my toe pretty good. Now it's all swollen and bloody. That hurts like the dickens.

Water dogs

We went out in the pool some yesterday and discovered a new thing Blitz likes to do. He likes to attack the water hose and eat the water. I snapped a few pictures and thought I'd share them.

LA Police Gear

Judging by the name, you might think that LA Police Gear only sells to cops but nothing is further from the truth. They sell to everyone! Right now they have free shipping on their tactical pants series and other great deals where you can get free things, like hats! Check them out!

Ramblings of a sick mind

I guess I'll be sticking with WRG after all. I seem to be getting the hang of it and they're publishing my articles sans edits. I think as I get to doing more and more I'll get even faster at it. So far I have three published and three more to write before Thursday of next week. Not bad I guess.

Oh and my title is just a joke. I swear my mind is perfectly fine. It's my sinuses that are sick. LOL Still taking my antibiotics and feeling somewhat better, just not 100%. Although I do have to admit to getting the snorting laughs tonight while watching I Love Money. Some of you, heck...most of you have no idea what I'm talking about but it's a reality show with contestants who were on Flavor of Love, Rock of Love and I Love New York. Anyway, stupid Megan says that if she wins the money she'll put it towards helping mentally challenged dogs because her dog is retarded. Her words, not mine. Don't shoot the messenger for using a less than PC term. But I digress, I'll watch the show because I just love fighting and drama on reality shows.

There's an open house tomorrow night at Capstone and I was going to go, then Ann wasn't going so I changed my mind, now Ann is going so I think we're going as well. LOL I'll know for sure tomorrow but now I need to pick up a food item to take. :) I think it'll be fun though.

Well, I should go write some articles or play games or something. I figure I'll take a sinus pill and it'll knock me out shortly.

Vista Print's free everything sale

I have to say that I love Vista Print. I’m not even just saying it because it’s a sponsored post; I’m saying it because I use them. I use them for my business to get postcards, brochures and other things helpful to me.

Right now they’re having a Special Sale. That means that you can choose from postcards, magnets, rubber stamps, business card holders and more. I love sending potential customers my personalized postcards and brochures. I feel that it gives a personal touch and it’s a great direct marketing tool.

Vista Print even has invitations for free right now. I think that’d be really awesome if you were planning to throw a party. We’ve been considering our next party and just think, I could have printed invitations to send out to family and friends. It’s definitely something to think about looking into.

What’s great is that Vista Print has sales like these quite often and all you have to do is order something and get on their mailing list. I get e-mails all the time with specials that I might not have known about otherwise. I really think everyone should check them out, especially if you have a business or you’re planning a party.

Oh Steve!

Could Steve Perry get any hotter in this video from the 1983? I love this song but oddly I always thought it was a Journey song. I must have brain damage. I have an excuse, I'm sick today. I have a sinus infection again. *must get antibiotics and go back to bed* PS I tried to embed this video and it gave me a closed tag error even though it shows up on the preview so I have no clue why it's doing that. You'll just have to click. Oh wait, he can get hotter!

Article writing fool

That's me. Today I did the following on DemandStudios:

How to Buy Jewelry From Mexico
How to Get a More Tanned Face
How to File Alabama Unemployment Online
How to Get Started on Keen
How to Order Live Saltwater Fish Online
How to Tan in a Tanning Salon

Plus on WRG -
I did an article on healthcare benefits outsourcing. LOL Plus, I got signed up for a writer for another place that does celebrity type gossip. It pays but I'm not sure if they do ad revenue or pay per post. I'll have to see first because I've never cared for ad revenue payment. I've never found it to be as profitable as getting paid per post. Anyway, we'll see. More to come but I wanted to share my busy writing day. :)

Big Brother

Anyone watching this season? I am so annoyed with certain people. I can't stand Jessie, Libra, Michelle or April. I like Keesha, Dan, Steve and I'm undecided on the rest. If Jessie talks any more crap I could just strangle him through my TV and April, OMG what does she have other than a huge chest? She's annoying and not that pretty either. I know, how lame am I? LOL So far to me the best season was the one with Evel Dick. Last season I think they picked the bottom of the barrel to go on the show.

Viddiction

Looking for a new video site with fresh videos? Try viddiction where you can find all kinds of videos from all different kinds of people. My favorite is called dog playing with birds and shows a dog in the pool with lots of little chicks. The chicks are crawling all over him yet he’s just watching. Very cute!

This site seems different because you accumulate cash for videos for each view. No other video upload site does that as far as I know unless you’re in a contest. They have contests too though so you can win either way. They have what is called a regular monthly competition where each view gives you a popularity point and at the end of the month the person with the most points wins the cash. When I looked, the cash payout was at $4000, which isn’t bad at all. You can even enter as many videos as you like, optimizing your chances of winning. Not a bad idea if I say so myself. They have prizes that range from $50 to $500. I also like that everything is categorized so you can look for videos on pets or sports or anything you might be interested in.

Check it out and you might just find your favorite video as well!

Versus

I was looking for information last night about Twilight and came across so many threads and blogs comparing it to Harry Potter. The Twilight fans were very adamant about their book being best and the Potter fans were the same. There were arguments galore. I got to thinking, why do we have to compare? I like both. I should say that I love both but why can't I have both? I can love my Harry Potter books and still love Twilight. Remember when it was all about comparing Swan Song and The Stand? People still do that. There's a thread on Amazon right now that compares the two. Why? I love them both and yes, I've been guilty of comparing them myself but not to the point of saying that if you love one, you can't love the other. I guess it's just human nature but still, love them both if you do. Why not have your cake and eat it too? PS I love both The Stand and Swan Song as well.

What's Your Bill IQ?

For_opportunities

I recently took the quiz at Bills IQ on my financial health and scored a C. On one hand I think it could have been a whole lot worse and then again, I could have done better. This is a very neat tool that can help you see where you’re at with your own financial health. You might do better than you thought or worse but at the very least you’ll look at your finances differently. You might even consider something like Debt consolidation To Consolidate debt it's pretty easy to do and will help out on paying your bills.

It was interesting because it not only talked about your debts and finances, it talked about financial things that you might not consider, such as a will or college for your children. I don’t have children myself but a will is something I guess we all have to think about at some point. After you take the quiz and get your score, you can then click to the next section, which gives free personal advice and tips on how to improve your score. I thought this part was pretty nice because it’s rare that a site gives you advice for free without having to fill out a third party vendor or pay a fee. You can also compare your score with others who are in the same demographic group such as age, income and gender.

One of the things that they suggest that I do right is to create a budget. I am incessant about doing my budget each month and changing it according to events that increase it or decrease it throughout the month. One way to save money that I do is if you have an extra income from any other source, such as blogging, put that money into savings like it never existed. That can be hard to do but it adds up quickly. I put my eBay sales money into savings. I might spend it eventually but it’s there at first and sometimes I forget about it, only using it when necessary. Try out Bills.com for Debt help and Debt relief

The weekend

Where did the weekend go? I mean really! Today flew by like crazy but perhaps it was because my dentist appointment was so late in the day and then I took a nap later. I had a nice weekend though. :) The weather has been beautiful and I had fun.

I am almost done with Twilight and I'm waiting on my other books to arrive this week.

I need to get to work more. I had such a long work project with a customer that I neglected my other work so now I'm behind. Oh well, I think I can get caught up this week. In fact, I know I can. The WRG was a big pain but I think they finally accepted my first article which means I have five more to do this week. Geez, what'd I get myself into? LOL I guess I'll see how that goes. Maybe do one a night or two.

Alzheimer's Memory Walk

The Alzheimer's Memory Walk is a great event to be a part of. This event takes place in the fall and asks volunteers to be a part of the walk, which is usually just two or three miles long and is held on a weekend morning.

If you know anyone who has been touched by Alzheimer’s disease, and I do, you’ll see why this is so important that a cure is helped found. This event is the nation’s largest right now and they strive to raise awareness and funds for research and care, both of which is of the most importance. There are walks in more than 600 communities so you can find a walk near you!

Imagine being a part of something so important and all it takes is a little time and effort on your part. I think we can all take the time to help out for such a wonderful cause.

The Dentist

Dentist visits suck. I bet you all know that though. I went today for a regular cleaning and boy did it hurt. However, I do know I'm sensitive to pain and always have been. I once read that redheads are more sensitive to pain, I wonder if that's true or it's just me? At least this dentist or dental hygenist actually, is pretty nice. A long time ago I had a dental hygenist at another office that said I was being too sensitive. Err...okay we'll just let that go and keep it clean here. Anyway, I'm glad it's over with till the fall.

Twilight

Twilight - I'm Hooked!

I was recently reading the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and there was this huge write up on the book series and upcoming movie of Twilight. Well, can't say as I've ever read Twilight but it looked good enough to try so I ordered a copy from Amazon. Well, a few days later and I am a huge Twilight fan. I ordered the rest of the books in the series and pre-ordered the next one. I'm devouring it so far and can't wait to see the movie. I read how it's all the craze like Harry Potter with online spoiler leaks, screaming fans, the works but who knew? Well anyway, here's a picture of the cast from the movie.

And what's a cast photo without the movie trailer and site?

Showing a precious

Precious pup warning. I took these just now, aren't they the most? The first was taken in stealth ninja mode, the second was after I said...PUPPIES!!!

And not to be left out, last but not least....Swan gets in on the action.

Warning - cute doggy story

I forgot to tell people that the other night one of the twins did something totally precious. We keep the bedroom door shut to keep pool dogs off of my white down comforter. So when I get home I always go in the bedroom and close the door so I can change clothes and they don't jump on anything nice.

Well recently, he adjusted the doors so that the a/c will travel throughout the house easier and the twins like to stick their noses and paws under the door.

I went in the bedroom the other night and one of the twins (Blitz I think since he likes to give to others) stuck a toy under the door for me. Is that precious or what? Don't say I didn't warn you.

Wine Wine Wine

We went to the coolest store tonight that just opened. It's called World Market They have neat stuff from around the world and boy did I love their wine section. These are what I came home with below but this is what I just got:

I only got the green one but how super cool! Okay, here's my wines I got tonight and yeah, I found another Marilyn Merlot:

A busy day and night

Here's my newest Swanky Pup post and by the way, I do love these leashes! Check it out here.

I got into the conference call tonight for Writer's Research Group but not without mishaps. I called promptly at 7:30 but kept just hearing the hold music for almost half an hour. I finally decided to hang up and try again and I must have hit the wrong number the first time because this time I was in the middle of the conference. She heard me ring in and asked who it was. I was so embarrassed but she was super nice and caught me up on everything. WRG has a very specific way of doing things but it's neat because I'm learning more about keyword density and deep links, things that will help me in my own business as well. Plus, you get a byline and all so other places can hire you for freelance work. Pretty cool.

So now I have my first guide due by Friday at 3 PM which gives me one whole day to learn their system. So there's that, I have more Demand Studios articles to do, the dogs get their rice and chicken done tomorrow (oh joy), I have regular work, I have to mail a sale I made on Amazon and hopefully the guys are ready to start their sites on Friday.

I tell you, I work more hours at home than I ever did out in the workplace. I can't complain though, not everyone gets to watch a semi-okay horror movie during work like I did today. LOL I also cleaned one of the bird cages today and by that I mean rolling it outside and hosing it down and all that fun stuff. Now we just need to do the biggest one. They get dusty and bird-feathery! PS that movie was called The Babysitter and had so many elements from other movies but it was decent. More of a made for TV or Lifetime movie than it was a rental but I'd give it a 7/10 I suppose.

I am tired!

I am tired and that's unusual for me. Why, I might go to bed shortly and it's not even 1:00 AM. Here's the thing though, I have to go to bed first. All alone except for the dogs. Then after he gets ready for bed I'll be asleep probably already. (was that some proper grammar or what?) If I wait till he's in bed and try to go, I can't sleep as well. I'm picturing a scenario of me jumping in bed yelling, "I got here first!"

Today I went and met with Fain and he's super cool. We should have something going by Friday or so. I hope so, this project seems really awesome to me and I'd love to get started.

I also got home and had 5 articles to do for DS. Four, if you count the fact that Rich has to help me with one that was his idea to do. It's checking your pool with this certain test kit so yep, he's gotta help me.

We went in the pool for the first time in about 2 weeks. It's rained like every day here almost and I mean torrential downpours, not just sprinkles. Today was the first full sunny day in a while that we also had time to swim. I think Donner got mad at me for making him swim to his float but I just pulled out the bubbles and all was forgotten.

Well, let me go do whatever it is I need to do before bed. :)

War Games re-release

I love 80’s movies or at least some of them. My two favorites though are The Breakfast Club and Last American Virgin. Now wouldn’t it be cool if those were re-released? That’s what they’re doing now with War Games. It’s been 25 years since the release of War Games and now for one night only they’re releasing it in select theaters nationwide. Now you can see it all over again and they’re also showing never before seen footage and letting you have a sneak peak at the sequel. Now how cool is that? If you have kids, you can take them to see this classic or just go see it yourself. Now, let’s hope they reconsider The Breakfast Club.

I'm going to be president!!

Now how cool is that? Could you all just imagine me as president? ROFL I love these little tricks and this one was super cool since it seemed so real. I bet I could fool my mom!

Just testing out smart links

I'm just testing out this smart links thing. Supposedly when I add a link it makes it a smart link so let's test this theory, shall we? Today we stopped by Starbucks like we usually do. They've moved the book I got there right up front. I'll say it again, you should all read The Art of Racing in the Rain. One of the most awesome books. I'm still waiting for Rich to start it. Anyway, let's see if the smart links show up. I'm skeptical but here goes.....
.....Hey, it worked! The book is a smart link. Now how cool is that?

Website stuff

I had two calls this weekend about websites. One, I have an appointment with tomorrow so wish me luck on that. The other, we went to meet with them today since it's out of town. Very nice people and should hear from them in about a week since they have to get their pictures and stuff ready for me. I also had the conference call tonight but decided to do it Wednesday instead since I was not feeling great today and by the time we got home it was nearing time for the call and we hadn't even had dinner. Anyway, I enjoyed the little road trip today and we saw some awesome cypress recovery and learned all about it, which was really interesting. I'll show you all the site when I get started on it. :)

Sunday

We went to see Hellboy II today and it was great, as usual. I still like Guillermo Del Toro's spanish horror movies best but I do love Hellboy as well.

We ate dinner at Applebee's and the service sucked. We sat there forever before being waited on and then when we did get our food my fries were cold. Yeah, I had fries but I haven't forgotten my diet. I just forget it on the weekends. Then we sat there forever again. Long story short though, we got our whole meal, including our appetizers for $15 so I can't complain too much.

About 2 years ago or less, I got the entire Brady Bunch on DVD. We've been watching them here and there but now I'm on the last season and it's kind of sad. Perhaps not as sad as when we finished Sex and the City but still sad. I have about 2 discs to go.

It has stormed all weekend. I still want to go in the pool tonight but it might be too chilly. We got a huge ball to go in there cause the twins deflate any blow up balls. This one is not a blow up ball so we'll see how that goes.

I send out postcards periodically to get new customers for website design and one has been writing me. He wants 3-4 websites to start so if this works out I'll be thrilled. I love starting a new project. Wish me luck!

A near fight and stuff

I got my information on starting at Writer's Research Group. I have a conference call on Monday and it looks to be a bit more complicated than what I do now with Demand Studios but like any job, you learn it.

We stopped by Walmart tonight to pick up something and it was packed as usual. So we go to the non-grocery side and there's a car backing out right up front. Rich turns on his turn signal and waits when lo and behold, a car up the lane starts backing up for that spot. We're like, oh hell no. We got into the spot and I swear to you, he comes into the spot too and tries to say that he has been waiting 10 mins for it. Um, wasn't he up the lane and backed up? I was so mad but the only reason we ended up finding another spot is because we were worried he'd damage our truck since he almost hit us trying to manuever in sideways. I kid you not. He got his karma since his car starting smoking and was on fire somewhere. The old me, years ago would have keyed his car. Yep, I WAS that type of person long ago in another lifetime. However, the me now didn't. God how I wanted to. I know, over a parking space but seriously! I could care less about the space, it was his rudeness and utter disregard for who was there first. However, we got in and out much faster and I figure he's still in line somewhere and will get his karma if he hasn't already with that whole car on fire thing. ;)

Never a dull moment at Walmart. Go ahead and laugh you northerners!

New wine

Check out the wine I found tonight when we went way out to the west end of the beach to The Carousel. I'm so glad I went!

The Ruins and ramblings

Tonight we rewatched The Ruins. Now I love this movie, loved the book even more. But I noticed something tonight that disappointed me a little. There was some film filmed on top of scenes. Not sure of the technical term for that (Noah help me out) but there were the parts on top of the ruins with the rocks and the rocks looked like they were moving because they filmed that part on top of the film. My other friend says it's called Ghosting. Either way, that part sucked. I still love the film though. It has horrible reviews and all that but I actually enjoyed it a lot. We also got Stop-Loss which we haven't seen yet but it has great reviews. Hopefully that doesn't mean it sucks, which works out that way sometimes.

More drama for two friends today. :( I feel bad for both of them and hopefully things will work out cause they're both awesome people.

Not sure what we're doing this weekend but I do know we're going to go see Hellboy II. I do love anything by Guillermo Del Toro. And if you're one of the very few who hasn't seen Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil's Backbone or The Orphanage and yes I know HE didn't do The Orphanage so you didn't catch me there, go out and see them immediately. Err, go rent them since you can't actually go out to see them.

Sleep

Why is it some people worry about when I get up? I won't say who but it's not him. LOL I mean, I stay up late. I write articles and I work on projects and yes, I have some "me" time and play a few games before bed. But honestly, I get no more sleep than anyone else, sometimes less. So if I'm in bed at noon or 1:00 (and I try not to do that actually) why does it matter if I happened to have gone to bed at 4:00
or 5:00 am? Just venting I guess because it actually annoys me probably more than it annoys anyone else. I wish I could sleep no later than 10:00 am but that doesn't always happen.

Weird money stuff

I had a customer pay me through Paypal and when I went to look at my account it showed double. So I go to look and we had ordered a package from Omaha Steaks for the exact amount that was back in my account. So I call Omaha Steaks and they still show us paid in full but the money is in my account. My order arrives tomorrow. I figure eventually they'll figure it out and take it back out but I did call and let them know. It's not like I want to steal their stuff. :) We got a really great deal from them too so we'll see how it tastes. I've heard good and bad. Some people love their stuff and some don't. They do have a full money back guarantee at least and their customer service is super friendly.

Speaking of customer service, we went to Chic Fil A yesterday and I've never met a nicer cashier. He kept coming over to see how our food was and made sure to say good bye when we left even though they were super busy and he had to seek us out to say it. It was a really nice change.

So today I'm going to get a printer. I tried mine again and got one page out of it before I gave up.

Harvest your own stem cells

There’s a new product out that might be interesting to the women reading this. Now you can harvest your own stem cells that are found in menstrual blood and do it right at home. Stem cells can treat a number of diseases such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s disease. Imagine having your own stem cells at your disposal if they are ever needed, not just for you but a member of your family as well.

The C’elle kit has easy to follow instructions where you can harvest your own stem cells and then have them cryo-preserved. Menstrual cells are unique because they have some of the same properties of other important stem cells such as bone marrow and embryonic cells. These cells can even be used to donate to other family members if the need should arise. It’s like preserving your own health portfolio to ensure future security should you ever need them. Your stem cells will be where you can get them.

After you pay for the initial set up, there’s an affordable yearly storage fee. They also have different plans for your convenience including a yearly, quarterly, and semi-annual plan. C’elle even has a gift certificate program!

Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in Women's Menstrual Blood

July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST

CNNMoney
OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.

Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.

Drama llama!

Wow, a lot of drama today. Not with me, but with friends and some of his co-workers. I hope things work out for them all too. I had a very busy day but I got everything on my list done! Now I have a new list for tomorrow albeit a shorter one. Speaking of drama though, I had printer drama. I finally heard from this other freelance writing gig I had really wanted and they sent me a ton of paperwork to fax back to them and then mail. Now earlier I had already printed some paperwork they sent me to scan and send back...printer worked fine. Tonight I go to print the stuff that has to go out ASAP according to them and guess what? Yep, the printer won't print for jack! Won't print for me either. (really bad humor insert there) So now I have to go buy a new printer and this is just hours after we left Best Buy. I could have got something while I was out. Grrrr! Okay, so printer drama isn't as bad as life drama but I had to vent my drama anyway. :)

Great glasses, affordable prices!

zennioptical.com has some awesome prescription glasses on their site, and at affordable rock-bottom prices. They can do this by selling their own manufactured frames directly to the customer, cutting out the middleman, which can drive up prices. Prices actually start as low as $8.00. All of their glasses have anti-scratch coating, full UV protection and many more attributes you’d find on much more expensive frames. Check them out!

Hancock

We just got back from seeing Hancock and it was awesome! We'd heard some bad reviews about it but we absolutely loved it. I usually ignore the reviewers for the most part anyway. It was touching, had totally cool f/x and who doesn't love a Fourth of July holiday Will Smith movie? Not to mention that I love Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves any of those actors, action movies, movies with a lot of f/x or something just totally fun and not pretentious at all. BTW, saw The Dark Knight trailer which looks awesome too. I have never liked a Batman movie till Christian Bale became Batman. Now I like them a lot. Heath Ledger looks brilliant and this is another one I'd like to see.

Renuzit Triscents - a totally new and exciting product

Renuzit has a totally cool new product for you to enjoy fresh scents in your home. It’s called Renuzit TriScents and according to their site, if you smell the same fragrance for a certain period of time, you get used to it and no longer smell it. That makes perfect sense to me! Besides, who doesn’t like a change of pace anyway? What they’ve done is create Renuzit TriScents where you get three distinct scents that change every 45 minutes so you don’t get used to the same exact scent every time.

I put the product into my living room and it was really neat to get the unique scents that changed time after time. The scents I got were the Seaside Breezes scents. They include Relaxing Waves, Beach Breezes, and Ocean Oasis and you all know how much I love anything to do with the ocean. The scents are divine. You can even control the settings so that you get as much or as little of the scent as you want. They last up to 60 days, which is pretty good considering that you get that breath of fresh air every 45 minutes. I highly recommend this new product for you to try out!

Why don't you head here right now and print yourself out a coupon to give it a try?

I should be so lucky...

...as to look like her. I just watched the most awesome Bollywood movie but it was a crime drama and I loved it. It had the ever so hot Naveen Andrews (from LOST) in it and her. Great movie, it's called Provoked if any of you like legal dramas about spousal abuse and the court system, in this case...in London.

My wines

I've been collecting unique wines or I should say, I have been collecting wines with unique labels lately. Here's a few I have so far. Just click the mosaic and you can see them. :) My favorites right now are my Marilyn Merlot, Evil, Vampire wines, any of the dogs ones and Bitch.

I also got these tonight:

That drunk driver

Last weekend we were headed home from the beach about 11 PM. We saw a truck pull out and almost hit one car then drove down the middle of the highway almost hitting (a) more vehicles (b) families leaving their motel to go to a diner (c) another group of people walking.

I dial *FHP and talked to a nice guy who transfered me to the silliest dispatcher. It was like one of those 911 calls and went something like this:

me: there's a drunk driver in front of us almost hitting people
her: where are you at?
me: we explain to her where we are at
(driver almost hits a cop on the bridge)
me: there's a cop right there that he almost hit, why can't that cop stop him? (cop stays put, ignores driver)
her: calm down maam
me to rich: wtf? calm down? I wasn't upset.
me: I'm not upset, but he almost hit a cop.
her: calm down maam I am trying to get someone, can you read his plates?
me: I have a partial of xxxxx
her to other people: we have a possible drunk driver with partial plates of xxx
me to rich: omg he almost hit those people
her: calm down maam

At this point I'm ready to find out where she is a beat her if she says to calm down once more. I wasn't un-calm, I was more of like WTF!

They did finally get an officer cause he stopped us real quick to ask where the truck when. It's not like he couldn't find us, the truck does stand out.

Lordy!

Today has been crazy! Nuts even! I overslept like I usually do because I was up late last night, like I always am. Started work and did major business within the hour, enough for my daily goal and more. Then had some time with Andy. Those of you who know what I'm talking about will know which customer I am talking of. More business. Then I get paid from DemandStudios for my first seven articles. Then more business. While doing all this I am also rewriting an article and writing another I got approved on. By now I am frazzled. At 6:00 I am meeting Ann to go out to dinner and go to Tarot Card Reading class. So since 2:00 PM I've been working non-stop and just had time to get ready so we can eat before class. I'll let you all know how that goes but I'm excited. I think it'll be fun. More later!! :)

My first post on Swanky Pup

Here's my first post on Swanky Pup. You can also go to the About Us page and see my bio and all. :) And I really do love my Deedle Dudes!

Personal movie trivia

Just like a personal pan pizza, but not quite as filling, I was just tagged with the Personal Movie Trivia Meme by The Fearless Blog.

The rules are simple:
1) Cut and paste the following questions.
2) Answer the questions.
3) Tag everyone--so everyone reading this post, consider yourself tagged!

And NOW, with no further ado....

1) List one movie that made you laugh:
A) Superbad. I put off seeing it thinking it'd be stupid and ended up watching it two weekends in a row.

2) List one movie that made you cry:
A) Where do I start? Titanic was the main one though.

3) Name one movie you loved when you were a child:
A) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory & The Sound of Music.

4) List one movie you've seen more than once:
A) Oh boy, Titanic, Jurassic Park, The Magdelene sisters...wait, it'd be easier to name one movie I haven't seen more than once.

5) One movie you loved, but were embarrassed to admit it:
A) Showgirls. I guess I'm not too embarrassed after all.

6) One movie you hated:
A) Lately I'd have to say Nightmare Man. I love the Horrorfest movies but this one had bad acting, bad f/x and well, it was just bad.

7) List one movie that scared you:
A) The Exorcist, still does.

8) List one movie that bored you:
A) 10,000 BC. I wanted to like it, I loved the f/x but it bored me. I felt as if I should like it but didn't.

9) List one movie that made you happy:
A) The Sound of Music.

10) List one movie that made you miserable:
A) Monster's Ball. Great acting, great story and so damn depressing I can't watch it again. House of Sand and Fog is another depressing movie but that one, I love.

11) List one movie you thought would be great, but it wasn’t:
A) Any of the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels.

12) List one movie you weren't brave enough to see:
A) I'm pretty brave.

13) List one movie character you've fallen in love with:
A) Rose Dewitt Bukater from Titanic. I stole that from the last blogger but I adore her.

That's all folks! Once again, everyone is tagged!

Thanks for reading.

Guitar Hero

I got the new Aerosmith Guitar Hero and thank God there's no boss levels I can't beat yet like there was in Guitar Hero II. I still can't beat that Charlie Daniels dude on the medium level. I must have tried it 50 time now. I need some 8 year old to do it for me. I really crack myself up because I'll have a perfect score and if he starts to watch or I start to attempt to sing along, I'll miss a note. Here I thought I was good at multitasking! More to come later including a drunk driver story from this weekend! Don't want to share it all with you right now. You'll have to wait and I know that's killing you. ROFL

Updated a site tonight, etc.

I updated B's Barkery with a taste tester's page. Check it out! I think it's cute.

Today we had bukoo (HTF do you spell that word?) errands to do and we tried to bring Swan home but the twins went about their business of trying to mount her so back she had to go. :( I hope this is done soon so she can come home.

No pool all weekend because it poured on and off and made the pool chilly even after it warmed back up. I hate a chilly pool.

I was talking with someone about labels. Two people actually. I love labels and I think it's just an ego tripping kind of thing. It doesn't make me better or richer than anyone else, it's just a personal choice. Hence, the whole Ed Hardy post. For me, it makes me feel good in some kind of weird way. Not in a "better than someone" way just a "I worked hard and bought this" kind of way. Stupid, yes but at least I can admit to it.
