Sunday

Sunday is back with some of my favorite shows to watch. I loved Desperate Housewives, The Unit was good, Dexter was like being with an old friend, I Love Money has just one episode left and we still have Mad Men and Californication left to watch but it's getting late. Seems like this year our two busiest days for shows are Sunday and Wednesday. Thursday is sort of full but not too bad. It's nice to tape everything on the DVR and skip commercials and save time.

Video Makeover

Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover is a really cool makeover show where anyone can learn to take their digital photos and make them into something special. A video production you can share with friends and family. Zoey and Chris are two fun people who help you do something extra with your digital photos. Imagine not just making a slideshow but a video production; they can help you get it done and have fun while doing it.

My favorite was Wedding Day Crunch. Why don’t you watch the video and enter the contest as well? You can win some awesome prizes or even be featured on the show! Now how cool is that?

Possessed toys

I had darn nightmares today while taking a nap. I rarely have nightmares but I sure did today. Here I am trying to enjoy a nice Sunday nap and it goes something like this:

In my dream I just woke up from a nap. (like that isn't scary since the nightmare is basically about what I just really did)

I go in the living room where R is and all of the dogs are in there too when I hear something in the bedroom.

I tell R that something is in the bedroom and as I look down the hall I see the dog's stuffed bear come walking out of our bedroom all possessed.

I woke up with my heart pounding, went back to sleep and dreamed the same thing but this time it was a towel animal like you get on the cruise ship.

I hate nightmares! They stay with you all day and bug the heck out of you. I think I might have dreamed it because I had my stuffed Domo and was teasing the dogs by holding it and going, "RAAARRRRR" at them. There's my paybacks. That or it's a sign that inanimate objects are possessed by satan in my house. Lordy I hope it's the first one.

What I'm reading

I read a lot and I mean, a lot! I've been reading since I was 4 or 5 years old so imagine the thousands of books that is. Some books I've read again and again like Swan Song and The Stand but anyway, here's what I'm reading right now:

20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill (great so far!)

sTori Telling by Tori Spelling (I am loving this)

All God's Children (this one is for my class at school which reminds me I need to study)

Footprints of Thunder (this one is good so far, I originally bought the sequel by accident so I had to get this one)

Weird food combos

I was talking to a friend online and he hadn't heard of putting peanuts in your Coke. Then again, he's from CA so what does he know? LOL Just teasing, Frank. Anyway, that got me thinking of other weird food combinations so let's have em! Some of my favorites:

Peanuts in Coke
black eyed peas and ketchup
fries and mayo
fries dipped in vanilla shake
peanut butter and syrup (maybe that's not so weird)
banana sandwiches with mayo

I also put butter on any muffin even if it's chocolate or strawberry. My personal favorite that might not be that strange is buttermilk biscuits and you take stewed tomatoes and sop up the juices. Not as strange as Frank's ramen noodles and melted chocolate. And here I thought I was strange.

Finally...

....I think I'm feeling better. This is the first time I've felt like doing anything in almost 2 weeks but it's been 2 days of feeling better so perhaps it'll continue. I considered getting a flu shot but we thought it was too early. Well, obviously not. LOL

On another note, my beloved Criminal Minds starts back tonight and I can't wait. Wednesday is a busy TV night, that's for sure.

3 Workouts in One

There are a couple of things I’ve always wanted to do while working out and that’s martial arts and dance. Okay, so I’ve wondered about yoga too. With XFLOWSION, they combine all three into convenient workout DVD’s. Imagine getting the strength training from yoga, the fitness from martial arts and the coordination and movement from dance but in one workout, not three. That’s what XFLOWSION offers in their four DVD disc set. You get four DVD workouts, 2 guidebooks and 2 audio CD’s. Not only that, they’re the first fitness DVD’s to be filmed in high definition and with 5.1 surround sound. You can’t get that anywhere else unless you’re actually at a gym.

The top celebrity trainer, Eric Paskel created XFLOWSION, which combines cardio, resistance training and flexibility. You don’t need to spend hours in a gym when you can work out at home and have fun doing it. XFLOWSION provides continuous shifting moves that keep your body working out while keeping you from getting tired of the same old workout. You never get bored with XFLOWSION. One minute you’re in yoga position and the next minute you’re dancing. XFLOWSION is definitely an innovative and exciting product in the exercise world. It’s rare that something new comes along that is this exciting but XFLOWSIONis definitely something to get keyed up over.

True Blood, I have ruined you

I had to know something so I checked out information on the Sookie Stackhouse series and not only did I read some really interesting spoilers I won't post, I also found out about that dog that's always in the show watching her. I knew that dog meant something! If you want to know, ask me. I won't ruin it for you but once I found out, it all makes sense and if you go back and watch episode three, it just might make sense to you too. That's all I'm saying. BTW, I never could keep a secret so someone please ask me! LOL Hey, that's what got me in trouble when I was little and told my Gon Gon while visiting her in NY that we went out for burgers. I think I specifically said, "I'm not supposed to tell you we went out for burgers." I have to work on that whole secret thing you know. So ask already!

Can anyone tell me what the heck the brown dude is? I see him everywhere but where did he come from? Target even has him as their Halloween mascot. I need to know, people!

Wait I found it. His name is Domo!

He's Japanese! Whew, that was bugging me!

Countdown to the Emmys

Movies

I got my copy of Criminal Minds Season 3 last night. Circuit City swore it comes out this coming Tuesday but Target and Walmart had it. I think Circuit City is confused. I looked for The Life Before Her Eyes but couldn't find it so I'll have to get it from Amazon. And Sex and the City comes out on Tuesday. Woo hoo! Can't wait to see that one again.

Disney Bingo

Disney has put out a lot of top quality movies over the years but I’d have to say that the following are my top favorite movies, characters or songs from Disney.

1. Dumbo – I remember seeing this as a kid and was always sad when they made fun of Dumbo’s ears and treated his mom bad in the circus. That must be why I hate circuses.

2. Alice in Wonderland – Who wouldn’t like watching Alice take those biscuits and then meet all kinds of odd characters? I loved this movie and book!

3. Lady and the Tramp – watching them eat that spaghetti then kissing was priceless.

4. One Hundred and One Dalmatians – need I say more?

5. The Parent Trap – I can barely remember this one but I loved it.

6. Mary Poppins – I love seeing her fly with that umbrella.

7. Supercalifragiliciousexpialadocious – did I even spell that right? Love the song!

8. Just a Spoonful of Sugar Makes the Medicine Go Down – another super song.

9. The Love Bug –sure, it’s hokey now and Lindsey Lohan did some kind of God-awful new version but back then it was cool.

10. Escape to Witch Mountain – I had a crush on the main guy in it and wanted to be the girl. I loved these movies.

11. Freaky Friday – awesome movie and loved the remake as well.

12. The Apple Dumpling Gang – can’t remember a lot about it but I did like this one a lot.

13. Return from Witch Mountain – what can I say? I liked all of them.

14. Lilo and Stitch – my favorite Disney movie. I adore Stitch and went on this Stitch kick for a while.

15. Finding Nemo – very cute and I love saltwater fish anyway.

I can’t find room to list the others like The Princess Diaries and Haunted Mansion so I mostly mentioned the old ones from my childhood. Why not list 5 favorites of your own?

Screenlife Games has a new game called Disney Bingo where you and your children can match characters and movie clips. You can get it at www.amazon.com or www.drugstore.com The game has all of your favorite characters and comes with a DVD, 6 double sided Bingo cards and 150 Bingo chips.

Random stuff

I found out tonight that a very important person reads my blog once in a while. I thought that was cool. Mr Reassignment, you know who you are. :)

My flu is getting better, or at least tonight it's better. Who knows what tomorrow brings? Hopefully that's a sign that it's leaving. I found out that something is going around and oddly, my mom was just saying that the back of her head hurt too and she so does not wear a scrunchie so perhaps it's that flu thing. Weird!

It's finally nice enough to open up the windows at night. I love the fresh air and not to mention how it makes the sheets smell. Sheets dried on a clothes line is one of my favorite smells and since we use a dryer, I love it when the wind blows in and does the same thing.

The other night we went to Outback (diet be damned while I'm sick) and there's this guy there we see all the time who has an H2 so I told R (can't agree on a name yet) that I was going to say hi. R thought he might diss me but he didn't. Hey, I'm friendly...what can I say? I think now that people have traded their Hummers in I see so many more on the road cause now people can afford them. If we'd have waited ours would have been cheaper as well. But who knew? Funny thing is the other night we saw an H2 but they were taking a picture of ours so R waved. He loves doing the ninja thing in pictures people are taking. Just in the truck though. It's not like he leaps in front of people or puts bunny ears on them.

Still deciding on joining the Krewe but have to make a decision this week since the new member meeting is next Sat night.

I wish I were tired. It's 4:23 am and I slept a bunch today while feeling all flu-ish but now I'm not too tired and I do need to go to bed sometime this century.

New shows

Okay, when I first typed this title I typed new shoes and thought about how much I love new shoes, but I digress.

I've noticed this year there's not a lot of new shows (typed shoes again) I want to see. I'm pretty set in my ways with my old ones like Criminal Minds and Desperate Housewives. There are a couple I want to see like Eleventh Hour but usually there's a bunch I want to add.

What I did add was True Blood on HBO and I'm already hooked on it. I love that show!

I guess this is all okay since I have too much to watch as it is and it seems people think you're some kind of couch potato if you watch more than one show. However, we save our shows and sometimes watch them late night on the weekends or while cooking dinner. So there, you judgemental tv people!

Debt consolidation

With the economy the way it is today, it’s important to consolidate debt as best you can. At Bills.com you can view every piece of information to help you achieve that goal. There’s an advice area, success stories, debt solutions and more. One of the ways I noticed was their boot camp to consolidate debt. Everything you need to know is right there for you to read. From budgeting to debt relief options, it’s all there for you to learn about. There are even different areas for whether you have good credit or bad credit so you can utilize their services no matter what your financial situation. Having knowledge is the most important thing on any task and when it comes to finances, you can’t go wrong with having the most up to date data.

One thing I particularly noticed was the handy tabs at the top of each page. With these tabs you can choose a drop down menu for mortgage, debt help, insurance, bill consolidation, loans and credit. Imagine going to one place for all of your financial needs. Need a payday loan? Bills.com has a tab for that. Perhaps you’re looking to refinance your home, it’s there as well. Bills.com has everything you could ever need in one handy place and with an uncertain economy, we all need a little help in that area.

Outlook Express and the flu

I went to check my mail today for Karsun Designs and all of the e-mails were blank. I tried everything to fix it and finally saw on Microsoft's page to download Windows Live mail if you have OE 6. I tried it and so far, so good. My mail is showing up, etc. I hate problems like that...hate hate hate! So darn annoying. Seems to be working so far. R says why not just use AOL? Well, I can't check web based mail with it though. Like my dot com mail or my comcast mail. Otherwise I just might since I'm annoyed. We'll see how this Windows Live mail does.

Haven't seen a lot of me since I've had the flu. I was sick somewhat on Monday but really sick on Tues and feeling somewhat living today. I found some of R's old cough syrup from the dr in our fridge and it works awesomely but it makes me conk out. No late nights with that stuff. Hopefully tomorrow I'm even more better. I hate the "swimmy" head feeling.

My other newest project

Here's my other new site I'm doing: Lowells Jewelry I am officially doing two sites at once and both are jewelry places. However, they're both very different. I'm excited to be doing this site and the Lowells are the nicest people you'll ever meet. BTW, as far as I know we're joining the St Andrews Mardi Gras Krewe. I think that'll be a blast! We've been in one of the Mardi Gras parades a while back but wanted to get back into things. More on that later though.

Battle Royale...here....free...watch...dew now

Do you all know how much I love this movie? Now you can watch it for free, right here, right now!

Ike

Please keep the residents of Texas in your prayers. I saw one of the stations talking to a family earlier that stayed in the area due to having animals. It was the area they said was "imminent death" and that made me sad. Hopefully that doesn't happen. But anyway I was thinking that this family is us. Sounds like something we'd do. Granted we're not directly on a waterway so no worries on storm surge but I can understand why in a way. I hope The Campbells and the rest of everyone in Galveston and the surrounding areas stay safe.

These speakers rock

I got speakers today from The Speaker Store and they are awesome. They're the MS21.2 - Multimedia Speaker System and come with 80 watts of power. These actually sound better than my $150 speakers and these are only $35.97. I kid you not! We liked them so much that R took them for himself and we're ordering another pair for my computer. And get this, I placed my order on Monday and received them today. Now how's that for fast customer service? They even offer free shipping and a 30 day trial! By the way, I'm not being paid to say this either. Check out their site and order a pair. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed, especially with the low price offered.

Ike

Ike is freaking huge. It's like 400 miles across. They are having huge waves just a few miles from here in Okaloosa Island. We've had some wind and my canopy is all messed up again. I wish everyone in Texas the very best. This seems to be a very bad storm but hopefully it weakens even more. I wanted to share this waterspout video from Texas just because it's such an awesome spout.

Hilarious

Watch the super collider webcams.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Just a few more days...

...till they turn on that super collider. Am I the only one a little freaked out over this? I'm sure things will be fine but what if? I'm picturing a political cartoon of the machine and showing it suck a part of the world into it. I'm sure that's not how it works but that's what I picture. Too bad I can't draw. I'd love to make political cartoons. However, I digress. Cross your fingers and toes!

Coming soon

Here's the lastest site I'm working on... Filthy Rich. It's not done yet at all but you can get the idea. I actually got this one via advertising so that was cool and we did our business meeting at Starbucks. Now how neat is that?

Friends and Cruises

I talked with my ex-boss BJ from Bonded today. I really do miss working with her. But anyway, she's taking her first cruise in a few weeks. They're going to Cozumel and Progresso and talking to her I got excited about my own cruise coming up soon. The other night we bought an underwater camera so we can go snorkling and some new swim wear. I have our spending money put up and the trip is paid for. Now we just have to wait. I can't wait to hear all about her trip. One of my online buddies must take about 15 cruises a year. I instant message back and forth with him and sometimes he's on the boat as we chat. Glenn, you know who you are! He already has another one booked for Nov and is on one now. Now that'd be a blast to get to go that often. I can't complain, this is my third one and R's (no nickname yet although something about water he liked) fourth cruise. The only weird thing will be going just a week or so before Christmas. We've always gone late Nov or the first of Dec but this year my final exams were on the week we were going so we changed it. I can't wait!

Jesus is my Friend

Okay, if I have to have this stuck in my head, so do you! Watch it, it's addictive. Like crack. Seriously.

Great, I'm doomed

Looks like the super collider will be turned on Sept 10th and hey, that's right on time for Hurricane Ike headed this way. The best case scenario is that the super collider sucks in Hurricane Ike, but nothing else. God, I hate feeling all doomed. It's quite depressing.

weather station

I forgot to tell you all I got one of these the other night.
Weather Channel Weather Station I love anything weather and this thing is super cool. Mine is a little nicer than this one but you get the idea. I love being able to look up from my desk and see how fast the wind is blowing. Seriously!

Stuff

I'm feeling somewhat better thank God.

Met with a new client tonight. I got the deposit and will start on her site as soon as I get the stuff I need. I can't wait. She was super nice and easy to talk to. We did the contract in Starbucks, which was super cool.

How neat are these? Animal Companion Cards I just ordered me some.

I was so behind today after not doing much yesterday. I had like 7 DS articles to write and I still have a few WRG ones to do. I did two or three tonight, Swanky Pup, and did an mp3 for a customer. I am still behind but catching up fast.

The whole back of my head is so sore like when you wear a scrunchie or ponytail holder too long (for you girls and guys with long hair) BUT if I had, wouldn't I have noticed it? I mean, it didn't hurt last night so why'd I wake up like this? Did something fall on my head last night? Is it a big tumor forcing its way through my skull? Only time will tell.

Woe is me

I have been sick all day. Feels like a sinus infection or the flu. So I missed class and slept all day. I mean all day, seriously. I hate that too because I had class to go to, two quizes to do online, 4 DS articles and a couple of WRG articles. Oh and an mp3 to do for someone. I did get one article done and the mp3 so that's a start. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow and won't feel like sleeping all day.

On a brighter note I did watch the new 90210 tonight and it wasn't bad. I wish it was on another channel though since we can get something like Fox in HD instead of the CW which is a good channel but isn't as clear as the other channels for some reason. I think because it's not a digital channel is what they told me. Regardless, I had fun with the show. So far it's not something I just can't miss but it was fun.
