Love ya award

I just got the coolest award from Retro Kimmer! It's called the love ya award and I'm very proud of it. Check out her site while you're at it.

Eat This Not That

I found the coolest new book called Eat This Not That. It tells you what food producers don't want you to know. Stuff like eating whole grain bread not multi-grain bread or that raisin bran has about a ton of sugar in it. Or who knew that those Marie Callender pot pies have the equivalent of 26 slices of bacon! I am loving this book. It has so much I didn't realize in it and I'm only halfway through it right now. Check it out!

Spring Break

Somehow I got confused. I thought spring break was this coming week and I had no school but we do. It's March 3rd week that we're out so I have an extra week to study for the exam now. Well perhaps it'll be even warmer then but I doubt it. I bet we can't use the pool again till June.

On a side note, my yahoo music is playing the wrong decade. Just out of the blue it's playing the 2000's not the 70's like I was listening to.

C'elle

C’elle is an innovative company that allows women to collect their stem cells from menstrual blood. The fluid contains self-renewing stem cells that can be used for a number of things such as diseases and illnesses. It’s like saving up in case you or your family needs it at a later time. Imagine being able to do this at home and the pricing is much less than you’d think for something so cutting edge. You can order now and have your stem cells cryogenically preserved for future use and it’s as easy as placing the order. Don’t risk losing such a precious commodity.

The weather

The weather is absolutely beautiful today. It's 68 right now and that is almost perfect. I just wish the nights would be warmer. So far it still gets downright cold at night. I'm honestly so sick of winter I could scream and I live in Florida. I can't imagine being up north or somewhere else cold right now. No wonder Johnny went crazy in The Shining. All that snow and freezing cold I'd get cabin fever too and I wouldn't even need the ghosts to help.

Passion Search

Passion Search is an online dating service that’s easy to use and free to sign up. As soon as you visit the site an attractive avatar walks you through the steps to get started. It’s as easy as clicking a button through each page. You can choose what gender you’re looking for, an age group, if you’re male or female and where your location is. They even have an automatch feature that lets you pick characteristics of who you are looking for and the system picks automatic matches for you. At any time you can change any specific characteristics and automatch will change your matches.
They offer paid subscriptions which give you more benefits and features but the basic membership is free for anyone to use. You can meet people in person and passion search doesn’t allow any offensive pictures, videos or chat so there are no worries you’ll see something you don’t want. It’s all professional, innovative and best of all, free to sign up. Why not give them a try and see if you can find your perfect match too? It’s not as if the dating world is getting any easier out there and we can use all the help we can get.

Fat Tuesday

We went to a great Fat Tuesday party tonight. There was tons of awesome food. We took about 6 pounds of squash casserole and I'm proud to say that almost all of it was eaten in a couple of hours. I had a great time and enjoyed it a lot.

Today's "heard around the house" item is:
It's ninjas! (this was said to R's brother when he said someone had left a silver star type thing in his mailbox.

We got a new toilet. Okay this sounds stupid but it's neat. It has two buttons to choose from to flush. One is for liquids and two is for solids. Now how neato is that? It cracks me up but this toilet rocks! (I should put that as an item said around here. LOL

Website Design for Idiots

Webdesignad
Web Design for Idiots is web design for idiots main page website tutorials for people who don’t know much about web design or are new to the whole thing. The site is very user friendly and combines sharp wit with genuine knowledge. There’s a place for learning where to host and then how to use things like tables and indexes. The site is also very eye-pleasing and has a categories list so you can link right to the place you want to learn more such as SEO and graphics. The webmaster even states that she will be putting up tutorials as she goes so as she learns something, so will you.
Even though I design websites myself, I looked over the site in depth since you can never have too much knowledge on a subject and like her, I’m a hack too. One of the coolest things she offers is a phone call chat if you need help. While this service isn’t free, when are they? She even has a contact form where you let her know what you need help with first then she will let you know if she can help you. This is a great idea because you can talk to a live person who seems friendly and helpful.

Mardi Gras Preparations

Mardi Gras preparations 2009

Mardi Gras Pet and Kid Parade Pictures

I have these pictures done at least.

Mardi Gras Pet & Kid Parade 2009

Things heard at my house

I've been wanting to do this for ages. One sentence heard in my house. There will be more than one tonight since I've not done it so far.

-Who licked my face? (that was because one of the twins licked me but I wasn't sure which one, twins of terror they are.

-where's my balls? (that was for the missing dryer balls after washing a down comforter. Said balls were indeed found)

Mickey Rourke was robbed

I love Sean Penn but come on, Mickey Rourke should have won for best actor. The Wrestler was awesome and so real. I think he should have definitely won but I feel like the industry still thinks of him as white trash that showed up at an elite party. Not everyone, but some. Great job of Penn paying homage to Mickey. Sean Penn's a great guy and an excellent actor. I will say that the Oscars this year was great. I love watching them but this seemed more current and enjoyable. I hardly had to FF through much at all. Hugh Jackman was great as well and I loved the storybook of each genre. Should have had horror too but small steps...

Replicas

I remember when you had to go to another country to find replicas. Now from what I know from the government's website you can legally buy replicas but it's illegal to sell them. If so, how come you see them everywhere now, including the mall? I have no problem with that and have even bought some gorgeous purses but how can they do it? I asked the nice lady there and I'm still not sure. Either way it means I can get a great replica and not even have to travel. There, I've said it. I love replicas. Sure, I love the real thing too but I go through purses like crazy. I find one I love then next month there's one I like more. So getting a replica for me is a great way to have the ones I love and still be cost effective. I do have a couple of real purses but I'll never tell which ones they are!

File extension library

The iso file extension library is a great tool for learning about over 1000 files extensions and what they mean to you. Imagine being able to go to one site and learn about a file extension. Not only that, you can click each one and it will take you to another part of the site that will tell you all about it. I clicked mp3 to start with and I was able to read about what an mp3 file extension is and some common information on being safe with mp3 downloads, what other files help an mp3 work and helpful links. It’s a great way to learn about the many file extensions that are out there.

Sampler beware

I hate places where you order a sample and then they put you in their club so when you're checking out your checkbook balance you surprisingly find out they have taken out money you never authorized. I ordered an HGH sample and today I found out they took out money for a shipment. I looked on the site again and nowhere could I find that it said you were a club member. So I did as they asked and e-mailed the cancellation and will have to send the pills back once they arrive in order to get my credit. I guess I'm saying be extra careful.

Mardi Gras - warning: immature humor

No pictures yet but some to come. We were in the parade today and it was awesome. Who knew that a gross of beads was not enough? I mean that's 720 beads! Plus, we had some others we threw so say about 1000 total. The place was packed but the weather turned out beautiful.

After the parade we had a party on the Betsy Ann River Boat. I saw the neatest drink/shooter that they had plenty of. It's called a blow job. I kid you not. What you do is put the end into your mouth and another person blows the liquor down your throat. Imagine the jokes we thought of while trying to find these locally. Stuff like, "Do you have blowjobs?, can we buy a blowjob? can I have a blowjob?" and if we want to share our drink, "Do you want a blowjob?" Hilarity ensues.

I have tiara syndrome. Part of what I wore was a tiara and I swear I did not want to take that thing off. If I like the pictures I'll share. I just got my hair cut and done yesterday and that tiara sure did look fine on my head. Now I know why girls buy them and wear them at their wedding or prom. If I ever have another wedding like vows renewal I am sooooo getting a tiara.

A mood

I'm annoyed today. I overslept and it annoyed me. I woke up and the dogs had shoved my clothes in the floor. That annoyed me too. I'm just in a "screw it" mood and I hate those. Hopefully my mood will change over the day. Otherwise I'll be a pain to be around. The good news is that they fixed the taxes so our refund is tomorrow. I should get in a good mood just for that reason alone.

A place for redheads

Logo5

Redhedd.com is a great social networking site just for redheads and people who love them. Being a redhead myself, I thought I’d take a look. Not only is there a gallery if you’re a member, there’s also blogs, instant messenger, chat and more! The site is quite immense. It’s like MySpace for redheads. I like what I see so far. However, I’ll have to see if I want to sign up since I’m married and it seems like there are quite a few singles on there. Aha! I found a group for legitimate redhead businessmen. Since I’m not a man, perhaps they have a group for women that are business people or perhaps even married women who are redheads.
There looks to be quite a mix there with redheads from the United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom as well as anywhere in the world. I think this is a great site for redheads to meet and make friends, as well as find a connection if you’re so inclined. You can even browse members by hair tint, SPF, height, education and well, anything you can think of. You don’t have to be a redhead to join. Perhaps you just love a redhead and want to meet more of them. There’s a place for you too!

Various stuff

-Got the IRS stuff straightened out supposedly. Now it's being deposited on Friday so we'll see. The agent was rather rude though.

-Had the best dinner for R and C's birthdays. I had the fish, shrimp and crawfish jambalaya in cream sauce with puff pastry. It was divine! We ate at Baja Grill at Pier Park.

-We have a big storm right now. It just set the car alarm off and I had to close the door. On the plus side it's 70 outside. I just know it's supposed to get cold once the rain is done. I am sick of winter.

-I got my Yoga DVD in the mail so let's see how that goes. I was torn between Pilates and Yoga so we'll see which I like best after I try this.

-Sold both our other phones to make room for the Blackberry(s) and what is cool is that we always get more for our phones than we pay for new ones. I like that part.

Beyond annoyed

Today we were supposed to get our tax refund. It doesn't come so I went to look at the IRS site and now I have a code 1301. I did some research and found out this is a general code which means either they had a computer glitch, they are researching the stimulus check you got to see if you are owed more or something else I forgot. I'm so freaking annoyed since I could have used that darn money and they waited till today, when it's due, to post a code I have to call about. General consensus is that it'll be delayed for weeks now. :( I'm going to go sulk.

Facebook

I admit it, I have caved to peer pressure. I'm finally on Facebook. Why, I remember just a year or so ago MySpace being the biggest craze and then last week it was Twitter for me. Hey, why not? So if you're one of my friends that asked me to join, there I be.

Normal? I think not

I think they should have normal tests or conventional tests. Like to see how normal you are compared to everyone else. I think we're pretty non-conventional. We drive the big yellow thing, he has long hair, we both have tattoos, we don't have kids and well, I'm sure there's a ton more I could think of but you get the point. I mean really, do people get up anymore and serve breakfast and read the paper before work? We don't in our house but if you watch a movie or tv show you always see that. So I'm just wondering, how many of you out there are what is considered conventional or normal.

Free cell phones

Right now you can get free cell phones. By using this site you get your choice of free cell phones and today they’re having a mega sale where you not only get the free phone, you also get another free phone, a headset and cash back. Now that’s the kind of deal you can’t beat! All of their phones are brand new so you don’t have to worry about used or refurbished equipment. Not only that, they all come with a full warranty so how can you lose? Their site is 100% secure and you get free FedEx shipping along with your purchase.

Free back rub!

We were at Walmart earlier and they had this pet hair remover display. So I was trying it out since my dogs had got my shirt slightly hairy. Anyway, this couple comes up and he wants to try it so long story short he starts rubbing my back with it. His wife is like, "I bet that feels good!" ROFL!!! Actually it did but I digress. So he rubs my back forever with this thing and then declares it doesn't work. I guess I still had a hairy back. heh! At least I got a free back rub.

Great article

Don't Hate Me Because I Drive a Hummer
After a lot of research and contemplation, I went through an internal struggle and did not make this decision lightly. So, why is it that I am getting so much grief for this decision from strangers?

RENT

Just watched the live Broadway version of RENT. I swear, I never get tired of this movie or show. This is my favorite song from the movie with the original cast. Scroll to about 1:35 mins for just the song, which is beautiful. I'm annoyed because YouTube bowed to WMG and most of the audio on there is gone now due to copyright issues. I had the movie version but it's been removed. WMG sucks and so does YouTube right now.

Blackberry, I has one

We got our new Blackberry Pearl Flips in the mail today. Well, they came via UPS but I digress. I really love mine so far. It's so different from what I'm used to in the Razr. I already have the best ring tone ever...Sweet Child O Mine intro. LOL Of course then R found RENT ringtones so I'm torn. Here's what they look like:

Just a test

I got a custom domain for my blog and seeing what all I need to switch over so if this shows up in the feeds, that's one less thing to transfer.

A great big thanks!

Retro Kimmer redid my blog for me and now it looks gorgeous. It's much cleaner and easy to navigate, etc. She's wonderful and I really appreciate it. It took me forever to find the social bookmarking icons that would work properly. She did put me one at the bottom, she's so great! I hope you all like the new design and if so and you have a blog, give her a try. She does great work.

What are you doing?

What is everyone's Valentine's Day plans? That's exactly what Justin wants to know on his blog. For us, R's birthday is right after Valentine's Day so we usually combine the two. I don't mind at all either, I think it's rather neat. This only means he gets to pick the restaurant we eat at but since we usually have similar tastes, I don't mind that either. We usually get each other something and enjoy a nice dinner as well as maybe some time in the hot tub. :) No matter what, I think it's a great holiday and I love seeing all the neat things you can get like roses, stuffed animals and jewelry. I love all of those things!

Bjork on SNL

I love Bjork and Kristin doing her on SNL was freaking hilarious. She sounded just like her!

HGH

Alright so has anyone out there tried HGH? It's the newest thing. HGH stands for human growth hormones and is supposed to be great to help you lose weight, boost your metabolism, help hinder aging and all that neat stuff that would be great if it was bottled. I decided to try a sample week so I'll let you all know if it does a thing for me. I did find out that The Vitamin Shoppe sells tons of them so at least I know it's not snake oil. Now whether it works at all or not is to be soon. Stay tuned.

-saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons & watched Lakeview Terrace again

Zack & Miri Make a Porno

We watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno tonight and it was freaking hilarious. Some might find it offensive but I thought it was hysterical. Totally funny and definitely up to Superbad and 40 Year Old Virgin standards. I wasn't the hugest fan of Knocked Up so I'm glad I loved this one.

Buy american?

We shot this while in the parking lot of Target. ROFL He's driving a Mazda!

Us going 100

Don't let anyone tell you our H2 is slow. Here's a picture of us going 100 mph in the Hummer on the interstate. LOL

Me: Slow down!
R: (keeps going 100 mph)

PS HE took the picture so he was going 100 mph and multitasking!

Arguments can be funny

I was talking with someone tonight and they told me about an argument that cracked me up. I was thinking of a couple of things that are funny to me. I shall not use names to protect the guilty. I once got into an argument with someone and they were being very hateful so I knew if I called them trailer trash (please no one get upset if you live in one, this was to them, not to you) they'd get upset. Except I'd just gotten my tongue pierced so I lisped. It came out twailer twash. The effect was the same though. LOL

The other is a certain someone who I fuss with and if they say something that they mess up I'll say, "That makes absolutely no sense at all." Then they'll say, "Oh sorry, I didn't go to COLLEGE." ROFL!

See? Arguments can be quite amusing.

Twitter

Oh no, I have discovered Twitter. Sure, 10 years after the rest of the world but it's all mine now. I have work to do yet I was on there picking out themes (not theirs but others on the web) and writing little tweets and now look what has happened, I've found a new place to spend time that could be going to more useful things. However, it IS a great social networking place so why not? My Twitter thingy is on the bar to the right. Pretty neat.

Great game site for kids

MagNext VIRTUAL is this awesome site where kids can play amongst others and parents won’t have to worry about them. There are numerous games that are addicting and challenging and you can ramp up your sphere buy winning games and finding prizes. I played a few games myself and had a blast. I even got to make my sphere look cool so I could show it off to the other players. It’s like a virtual game world for kids.

All you have to do is sign up on their site and start having fun. There’s a shop for you to recreate your sphere, virtual games and even a chat box so you can make new friends while playing the fun games that are available. The longer you stay in the room the more levels you can access later. There are MAGZ that you collect that allow you to “purchase” upgrades such as different moves, different colors and items to go on your sphere. There’s even a map so that you can easily access every station. Best of all, it’s all free to use! Check out the news section to learn all about the new things going on and learn tips and tricks to help you earn more MAGZ. What a great time this was. I even included a screen shot.

Yummy super bowl food

We had some awesome food that we made all by ourselves. I got most of the recipes from Pioneer Woman and they were unreal!
We made stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon, chili con queso, fried mozzarella, wings and wait, maybe that was it. Anyway, it all sure was delicious. (that sounds like such improper English) Loved the half time show. I'm not this huge Springsteen fan but I like him and Born to Run is my favorite song. Loved Jennifer Hudson. Somehow missed Faith Hill. In my head I bet on the Steelers so I am now a faux winner!
