Straight Talk

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Discussing your favorite cell phone can start a holy war but one thing that is for sure is that plans can be expensive. For everything you need  why not try Straight Talk? Not only can you call a friend but you can also text, browse the web and do picture messaging for just $45 per month. Where else can you find a deal like that? Most companies reel you in hook, line and sinker but Straight Talk is perfect for those that can't get a plan on their own or don't want to be tied down to a plan that can last for a year or two. It's also perfect for the kids because you can still get awesome smart phones with touch screens, app capability, voice navigation, camera, mp3 capability, video recorder and Bluetooth and oh yeah, text messaging, of course.

If you're on a budget like most of us then this may be the perfect plan for you. You'll still get all of the features that other phones have but you'll be paying much, much less than those other phone companies charge. But why take my word for it when you can watch the video and see for yourself.

Orange County SEO

If you live in or near Orange County and run a business, hey I'm talking to you Vicki Gunvalson, you need to know about Orange County SEO. What SEO does for your company is place your business higher up in the search engines. This means that your company gets looked at more often and more exposure. If you know anything about an online presence then you know that you need this type of service. I tell all of my clients that SEO is important and they should always be aware of how to enhance it. You can't just build or have a site built and expect it to be at the top of Google; you have to work at it with someone that knows what they're doing and in Orange County, it's StekysMedia.

P.F. Changs

All I ever hear people talking about are P.F. Changs and In and Out Burger. While I can't do anything about not having the burger place here, P.F. Changs now sells their food in stores so we tried some tonight. The closest actual restaurant is in Destin but we got the frozen foods and I was pleased. Rich didn't like the orange chicken as well as the Shanghai beef and I liked it better. So if we buy them again, and they are sort of pricey, I'll get the orange chicken and he can have the beef. At least I got to try them finally even though it wasn't in the restaurant.

Bathroom Mirrors

Right now we have the bathroom mirrors in our bathrooms that are medicine cabinets as well. Now mind you, they're nice. They have three mirrors with the incandescent lights on top and three doors. However, if you want something more traditional in bathroom mirrors you might check out this site that has beautiful, ornate mirrors that would look perfect over a vanity or in a nice bathroom.

I rather like the Uttermost WILLCOX Mirror in distressed black with antique gold details. It's not too fancy but it's absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention that it could fit in a fancy bathroom or a traditional bathroom. Check them out and see what you think.

The British are Taking Over My TV

The British are taking over my TV slowly but surely and I like it. Lately we've been watching Torchwood Miracle Day and Dragons' Den and I love them both. This is in addition to all of the Gordon Ramsay shows we watch, Cat Deeley on So You Think You Can Dance, Secret Diary of a Call Girl (before it ended) etc. A couple of years ago we loved a show on BBC America called Survivors. It was a post-apocalyptic series kind of like The Stand meets the British and we loved it. In fact, I was quite sad when it ended. We also watched a British mini-series about a zombie apocalypse on the Big Brother UK set. I forgot the name of that one but it was fun.

So I am probably missing a few shows that we watch that are British but those are the main ones right now that we love.

Gold Coins

Want to know something that is good news in today’s economy? The price of gold is sky high which means a great investment opportunity. Things like gold coins and gold in general are where it’s at right now and you can sell at a high rate. Imagine being able to sell at a substantial gain and right now, that’s possible because gold is at an all-time high in the marketplace. At a time where everything else is at rock bottom, gold is the one thing that has steadily increased in value and is worth more now than it has been in ages. Don’t miss out on the chance of a lifetime.

This post was made in exchange for compensation although the views are my own and are never reflective of compensation.

Today Has Sucked

I wasn't going to write about today sucking but I honestly can't think of anything else. I didn't get paid yet from my job and I was really waiting on that pay, Swan kept me up all night barking, the DVR is back to its old tricks of deleting shows, our bread spoiled (I know, that's one is just silly but it did add to how the day is going) and I'm tired and cranky.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day with my pay showing up and a DVR that actually works.

Harry Potter Anyone?

Best place for buying Harry Potter book

Author: Keelz Webstore

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The books record the adventures of the teenager wizard Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's mission to overcome the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, whose plan is to conquer the wizarding world and conquer non-magical people, and who seeks to demolish all those who stand in his way, such as Harry's parents.

Since the 30 June 1997 release of the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, (retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States) the books have gained huge popularity, critical approval and commercial success worldwide. The series has also had some share of criticism, including concern for the increasingly dark tone. As of June 2008, the book series has sold more than 400 million copies and has been translated into 67 languages, and the last four books have consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history.

A sequence of many genres, including fantasy and coming of age (with elements of mystery, thriller, and romance), it has many cultural meanings and references. According to Rowling, the main theme is death, although it is primarily considered to be a work of children's literature. There are also many other themes in the series, such as love and prejudice.

The novels rotate around Harry Potter, an orphan who discovers at the age of eleven that he is a wizard, living within the ordinary world of non-magical or Muggle people. Wizard ability is inborn, but magical children like Harry are invited to attend Wizarding School to learn the magical skills necessary to succeed in the wizarding world. He becomes a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and it is here that most of the events of the novels take place, as Harry develops through his adolescence, learning to overcome the harms that face him, magical, social and emotional, including normal teenage challenges such as friendships and exams, and the greater defy of preparing himself for the argument that lies ahead.

After the success of the films and books, Universal and Warner Brothers announced they would create "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" theme park at Universal Orlando in Florida. A soft opening was held at the end of March 2010, with the park opening again on 16 June 2010 for reserved guests. The park was officially opened to the public on 18 June 2010.

Business to Business Ideas

I just spent about an hour and a half talking to a business person about different ideas. I love stuff like that where you can exchange helpful information and what is neat is that I was just looking at a site for business to business ideas for entrepreneurs.

If you own a business or are even just starting in business you'll enjoy all of the helpful ideas that you can learn about.

There is information on making personalized products, photography, copy writing and more! You should check them out and find out what you can do to further your business and get helpful ideas no matter what kind of business you have; I know I will.

Our DVR Might Just Work Now

Sunday we had five shows mess up so of course Comcast had to come again today in order for us to get our credit. However, the guy that came out had one of two of the only newer DVR boxes in Panama City and we have it now. Let's hope this one works better. It has a larger hard drive, etc and it automatically picked up our IP address super fast. The other one couldn't even find it at first so we are hoping this nifty new box works for us instead of us hoping and praying each time we play a show that it won't skip to the end and us not be able to see it at all. Anyway, wish us luck because there are no other boxes in this area right now; we have the newest as of now.

PS Yes, I wrote "nifty," Elias!

Celebrities I Get Mixed Up

The following list is a group of people I get mixed up. It doesn't mean that they look alike or anything like that necessarily but I may mix up their movies or think that they are the same person. Simply put, I confuse these people sometimes.

Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton. Yes, these two look nothing alike nor do they act alike but back a few years ago they were in pretty high profile movies (Titanic, Independence Day) so I get them mixed up sometimes.

Dermont Mulroney and Dylan McDermott. Again, they do not look alike but I'd often get them mixed up. Turns out that I'm not the only one that does this according to this link.

Timothy Dalton and Jason Isaacs. This one is common. One was in a James Bond movie and the other plays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies but to me, they look alike unless you put them side by side.

Thomas Jane and John Corbette. They do not look alike but I think it's because of Sex and the City or something that I confuse these two all of the time. Heck, maybe Thomas Jane wasn't even in Sex and the City but I still get them mixed up.

Paul Rudd and Eion Bailey. There is some actor I always confuse with Paul Rudd and it may or may not be Eion Bailey. But he is the only person I could find that looks close enough to Paul Rudd, which may explain my confusion.

Things are Looking Up

Well, at least things are starting to fall back into place. Rich got his truck back and the TV guy is coming, at the latest, on Monday. He is trying to fit us in tomorrow but that may not happen. At least he'll be here on Monday and we can have our TV again.

I'm also still working my new job. It's strange being at an hourly job but it's fun and I do like the commission too. Things may be headed into a whole other direction with that eventually and that's a great thing. We'll see how it goes but I'm hugely optimistic in what is to come.

Positive thinking...I'm trying it again.

Electronic Cigarettes

Okay, are these the coolest inventions ever? The electronic cigarette allows people that smoke to do it anywhere they please without all of the harmful carcinogens, tar, etc that can cause cancer. There's no smell or real smoke but it feels like smoking to the smoker.

The best thing is that smokers can take it anywhere. Imagine if you are a smoker and realizing you can now smoke in bed, on a plane, in a library, at school, in a restaurant and well, you think of it and I'll be you can smoke there with the electronic cigarette.

If you or a loved one smokes, check these out! It may be the best thing you ever did.

The Honey Badger

Today I think I'll be the honey badger. The honey badger could care less about anything and has this "take no prisoners" attitude. I think that fits perfectly. Here's a video of the infamous honey badger narrated by one of the funniest sounding narrators ever.

Speed Reading

Many of you know that I can pretty much speed read. However, if you want to be able to do it, you can check out this speed reading software. Not only does it help those that want to be able to read faster but it is also perfect for those with handicaps or comprehension difficulties. Being able to read faster is a plus in almost anything you do in life. It can help your employees train faster or your children excel in school. Maybe you just want to be able to read your favorite fiction novel faster so you can finish more books. It doesn't matter what you need it for, this speed reading software is great for building the skills needed to read faster and more efficiently. Check it out and get started on reading faster than ever before.

Casey Anthony Verdict

Okay, I've held off long enough. I'm very disappointed in this verdict. I realize that most of the evidence was circumstantial and I realize that you have to acquit unless it's beyond a reasonable doubt but really, wasn't it beyond a reasonable doubt? We have the lying, the searches on her computer, the shovel borrowed, the car DNA, stain and smell and we have more. It really saddens me that they couldn't have found the body sooner so that they could have been able to tell how she died. Then maybe none of this not-guilty crap would have happened. Oh well, I am a firm believer in Karma and I do believe that she'll pay for what she did if she did it. And I happen to believe that she did; beyond a reasonable doubt.

Quotes for Everything

I bet you've probably seen quotes on various sites such as Facebook. Maybe you wondered how to find your own quote. Well, now you can find great quotes for everything! From famous quotes and funny quotes to love quotes and inspirational quotes; they have it all.

I rather like this one by Albert Einstein: "Out of clutter, find Simplicity. From discord, find Harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies Opportunity."

You can find those and more and you'll find something to fit every need and situation. Your friends and family will wonder how you found such great quotes and it can be your own little secret or you can share the fun.

Another Good Deal

One thing didn't suck yesterday and that's because I got a great deal at Kmart. We had gone last week and got the many dog treats for zero money. For signing up for the rewards card and getting the dog treats, we ended up also getting two $10 off $10 coupons and three $5 off pet supplies coupons. We ended up with over $50 in stuff for less than $9 and it was only that much because I miscalculated and also had to purchase my vitamins separately because they already had coupons. In fact, I got those for $2.99 and it was two packs for $4.99 each regularly. They had them buy one get one free plus $1 off each package. Not bad at all!

CISSP Practice Exams

If you're looking for a career as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional then you need all of the help that is available to you. Did you know that you can get a head start with CISSP exam questions?

You get a 90 day membership, access to realistic questions and detailed score reports. Not only that but you also get clear explanations on the exam questions, which allows you to see why they are correct and what you can do in the future to ensure you get them right. Every registration also includes a free exam tip guide!

Think about it, why would you want to risk your career by not being as fully prepared as possible?

Yesterday Sucked

I know I'm not supposed to whine on my blog because frankly, who wants to hear that? However, yesterday sucked so bad that I figured I can and besides, it is my blog.

First of all, our new 55" TV broke the other night. Okay, so it's under warranty. However, it will be about Thurs. before he even calls and then he has to wait for the part (we think it's the motherboard because it's not the back light) and then he can schedule to come out. So for now, we have the 32" and no stereo, Xbox, etc.

Then we had to take Rich's truck to be fixed and hey, it's under warranty too. However, the costs we have to pay outside of the warranty is almost $200. So I got paid for a writing job and it all went to that. Yay!

Top it all off with a not guilty verdict for Casey Anthony and then me having some kind of cold with a runny nose and sneezing and that day sucked it. Hopefully today is better. Rant over.

Body Wraps and Belly Fat

World of Hair has some really neat products that may help you lose weight. One of their products is their body wraps for weight loss. These are home body wrap kits and you get everything you need that you'd find in a professional office. Besides, why not do it at home and save yourself a costly doctor visit and any embarrassment you might have?

The Belly Mud was created to help you lose belly fat and this product is pretty neat because it acts like a weight loss body wrap but burns like a weight loss pill. That's pretty cool in my opinion.

I haven't tried either product but to be honest, they do sound intriguing. Others have claimed great results and we do know that body wraps and certain ingredients will help with both problems. Give them a look and see what you think about how they work.

I'm Procrastinating Today

I have a few things I could do/need to do. I know it's a holiday but when you work for yourself you are never really off work. Sure, I plan to do the usual holiday stuff like go in the pool, have some 4th of July food, etc but I have a few articles I have to write and some stuff that needs to be done, yet here I sit. On the plus side, writing in my blog is part of my stuff that needs to be done so at least that part is done. I'll do my next post and clean up some then all I'll have to do is those articles for work after we go in the pool. Yep, that's a great plan I think. Hey, at least it's a start.
