Run for your lives!

The article

Smooth Away

I recently got to try a really cool product called Smooth Away. Smooth Away is an innovative product that allows you smooth and hair-free skin without harsh chemicals or razors. What is does is buff away unwanted hair by using a pad that is covered with fine crystals that exfoliates your skin while giving you a baby soft finish. I tried it tonight and was pleasantly surprised that it worked pretty good. It took hardly any effort and on my first attempt I had soft and smooth legs. I did miss a couple of spots but that was me, not the product. I love that I can do it while watching TV, which is what I did tonight. I actually buffed away any hair on my legs while watching American Idol! Now how cool is that? Visit their website and give them a try, I'm glad I did!

Hell's Kitchen

Is anyone else excited as I am about Hell's Kitchen starting back? The only thing that annoys me is that they put it on Thursday. That's great for Hell's Kitchen because that means they trust it will do well. However, not so great for me since Thursday nights are full. I really need to drop some shows and I did this season but there's a few I just can't get rid of. You know, there are people who don't even watch TV. I just can't imagine!

Grossology!

Grossology
The Grossology Exhibit - Orlando Science Center is an exciting new exhibit about The Impolite Science of the Human Body. Yes, it’s as neat as it sounds! Starting January 31, 2009 you can visit their exhibition with your kids and learn about all sorts of gross health and biology happenings. This partnership between Science World, Advanced Exhibits and Grossology author Silvia Branzei wants to teach children about biology and health but in a fun and exciting way. Using humor to get their point across, the Grossology exhibit features many fun hands-on activities. Learn about how your nose works or visit the burp machine. There’s even a “gas attack” game and a 30 foot long slide that lets you travel right through a digestive system. Your kids will be thrilled to try the human rock wall or try out the trivia games. No matter what your age though, everyone can learn something while having a good time.
Orlando Science Center general admission is $17.00 for adults, $12.00 for kids 3-11, $16.00 for seniors and students with a student ID. The exhibit is open every day except for Wednesday and can be toured from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM. They are closed during Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

We got em

We got our tattoos tonight and will send pictures shortly. R went bigger, his is gorgeous! I did just the outline of the words Dei Gratia in an ambrigram and can get it filled in for free any time I wish after it heals. To be honest, it didn't hurt at all till near the end when she kept having to go over the outlines to make them fill out more. I was pleasantly surprised that it felt just like J told me, someone scratching my skin. I think the worst part was when they rub it with a paper towel to get up excess ink as they're doing it. This was our present to each other albeit a couple of weeks late. Mine is in a place where I can cover it up by wearing longer sleeves or just a long sleeved shirt. R's is where he can wear even a short sleeved shirt and it not be seen. The artists were awesome and we had a wonderful time talking to them while getting it done. We each had our own person. Anyway, pictures to come in a day or so and if you don't like tattoos that's okay, I like them.

Save Broadway

I have printer capabilities!

I know, big deal right? Well, after the new PC was hooked up the printer wouldn't work. I called Epson and after almost an hour on the phone it still did not work. I finally called back today and got some kind of tier 2 person who had it running in 10 minutes. He was great. I also installed most of my software and did the online backup with Norton since we have that. Maybe this time I won't lose so much if something happens. I also need to burn some of my software onto discs so those don't get away. Regardless, I am thrilled. I thought I was going to have to buy another printer or something and we just got this one last year.

a correction

Please be informed that R IS NOT getting a dolphin. I made an error for some reason. It's a shark. My bad! LOL I decided on the Dei Gratis ambigram which means God's Grace in Latin. Even my mom thought that was beautiful and she hates tattoos on girls. :) So um yeah, a shark. Sorry!

piercings and tattoos

We went out tonight and stopped by the tattoo shop on the beach to look at stuff. I want to get a small ambrigam on my inner forearm. R is getting one too but a dolphin on his arm. It's pretty, like a black outline and only the water is color. Anyway, I have an ear cartilage piercing and I wanted to start only wearing stainless steel since my ears are very sensitive. They had to stretch it so it's like getting it pierced all over somewhat. He put a needle through that gets bigger and then threaded the stainless steel hoop through my air. Once this heals it shouldn't give me any more problems. I'll keep you all posted on the tattoo but I'm pretty excited. For those that don't like em, like I said, I want it small and with no color. Just a word ambrigam on my arm, I think they look awesome. :)

True Blood

I am reading the books by Charlaine Harris and I love them but Tara is missing, stuff like that. Does anyone know if she's even in the books? They're great but seeing the show first has me missing certain elements. I'm almost done with the first book and finished Frozen and almost done with Just After Sunset. I'm moving right along, I tell ya! Someone fill me on on Tara, Lafayette's cousin.

Make sure to read the whole thing

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.
I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Ms. Schwartz

Chinese Democracy

I love the new Guns N Roses CD. I can't stop listening to it. Well, I do love the first 6 songs and 11 the best. I know it's just Axl Rose and not the rest of the band but I'm absolutely hooked. Here's the first song on the CD. PS I've had the CD since it came out but just haven't posted about it yet.

Only I could do this

Tonight I had just done my nails and let's just say I have tiny fingernails. I have the acrylic fake ones and sometimes one pops off. I was scratching my ear with my little finger when a fingernail pops off in my ear. I tried to get it out and the more I tried, the deeper it went into my ear.

I got R to try and it did the same thing. Now I'm picturing a hospital visit, a huge bill, eardrum damage, you name it.

Finally we get a paperclip and use the end of it. He puts the clip under the fingernail and gets it out with tweezers. Thank God! Could anyone do this other than me? I mean really!

Full moon indeed

Tonight was the brightest full moon of the year. We couldn't see it well due to the cloud coverage but I do believe it was true. We left Starbucks tonight and was sitting at a red light when we hear a car come screeching around the corner then a loud bang. It barely missed us and slammed into the car behind us. We called 911 on Onstar (they took forever to answer, good thing zombies weren't trying to steal the truck or we'd been screwed) and went probably a mile or two down the road and saw another big wreck. Things were just weird tonight.

I am slowly getting stuff back on my PC but still lost a bunch. I can't find license keys to my Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop and still have a sick feeling that I lost all that data for the movies and books. But, everything happens for a reason and I shouldn't complain since I do have a new PC.

Ontronicon

Video-game-tournament

Looking for something fun for the entire family? January 16-20, 2009, the Orlando Science Center will be hosting Ontronicon. Otronicon @ Orlando Science Center is a video game event that is not just for kids. There’ll be Video game tournaments , workshops, classes and even a wedding between two gamers who met playing Halo. Just think, you can step on stage and act like a rock star with a customized Rock Band stage. Perhaps you’d be more interested behind the wheel or a race car or shooting a brute from your warthog while playing Halo. If you really want to show your kids how you played in the old days, take them to play Donkey Kong, Pacman and Galaga.

Daily admission is $17 for adults and $12 for children under the age of 12. OSC members receive free admission.

Don’t let an event like this pass you by. You might just find something you like that you’ve heard about such as Guitar Hero. You can even try out Wii Fitness to experience a fun way to get into shape. No matter what your preferences, there’s something for everyone at Ontronicon. They’re even showing gaming movies on the big screen for those of you just a little less competitive. Make it an adventure your kids will love and bring out the kid in yourself at the same time.

It finally happened...

My computer crashed. I have so far lost: all of my e-mail contacts including my accountant who isn't local, 3 years of checkbook entries in software, over 100 books and 500 movies I had entered in software data programs (that was just the start, I wasn't even near done), all of my software has to be redownloaded, etc. I did save stuff on an external hard drive but I didn't save the data part to some things. Like I had a Collectors shortcut, just not the data. All that hard work is gone. I did save pictures and stuff like that, some files, etc but everything has to be started over. I got one of the little PC towers that is super cute but I'd take my old PC back if it meant I didn't have to redo everything. :( Not to mention I didn't exactly have the money to go buy a new PC right this very moment but things happen. I do have backup discs coming for my old one so if that works I can at least get some data off of that computer including my contacts. It's 3:30 am and this is all I have been doing all night including poor R who worked hard all day and helped with this all night.

Let's try this again

Viacom took down the first video so let's try this one.

Coolest Class Ever!

I have the coolest class ever this semester. I start back tomorrow but on Thurs I have religion and crime, which I got my book for today. All of the chapters are totally fascinating: Satanism, Vampirism, White Supremists, Terrorists, ritual murders, human sacrifice, etc. Okay, some of you are saying to yourself, "OMG that's just sick" but if you know me, you know this is right up my alley and I can't wait to take this class. The book even has all of the symbols from and Nazi stuff to the Satanic symbols. (just in case I want to decipher graffiti here locally)

I love cat fights!

If you don't want to see the whole thing just put the scroll bar to the 6:49 mark and see Sharon Osbourne kick some ass. You could call it fake but supposedly Megan pressed charges and went to the hospital.

The Golden Globes!!

Product placement

No, not the television kind. We were in Walmart and I had this bet with R that they'd carry the finger vibe from Trojan. We'd seen a commercial and he said, "I bet Walmart doesn't carry that." I thought they might. Well, they didn't have that but they did have vibrating rings. LOL I digress. Anyway, next to that kind of stuff is pregnancy tests (in case it doesn't work), lube (in case you need help making things work smoothly), Enzyte (in case it doesn't work at all) and get this, Excedrin Headache Formula. I'm assuming this is in case your spouse has a headache excuse. LOL I just thought that was hilarious. I wonder what else would go there. Lingerie? How about flowers for the next day or a card? Oh I know...music! Maybe some Barry White. I never could get into his stuff. I'd much rather have Broken Wings by Mr. Mister. I shall embed their video for your viewing pleasure.
