An exciting movie day

Tomorrow Marley and Me, Seven Pounds and all of the 8 Films to Die For come out on DVD. I can't wait! I want the 8 Films for my birthday and Best Buy has an awesome deal which makes them less than $8 each. (or whatever 8 into $70 is) I have Marley and Me coming from Amazon but it says it's being delivered on 4/9 so I might get it and just send the Amazon one back for a credit. Why do I have to wait 9 more days? I'm not sure about Seven Pounds yet since I haven't seen it, I'm just saying that it's a cool release day with everything that's coming out.

We might stop by the doctor tomorrow. R is still sick and sunburned too. He went to the air show (that reminds me to do the pics soon) and they were giving out free sunscreen which he laughed about. Now he's sunburned. He said he should put that on FML. LOL

Randomness

Is randomness even a word? I guess so since spell check didn't flag it.

My head is going to explode. Whatever this is has sent microscopic trolls up my nose, into my head where they are hammering away and playing rock music. My mom thinks I am allergic to my pets but R has it too and all the people at his job so it's whatever is going around. I took some Allevert and it seems to be subsiding a bit. That, or the the trolls are taking a nap.

I got my Cher Uninhibited perfume in the mail. It's not made anymore and hasn't been for years so I have to find it places like eBay and specialty stores. Now before you go and say, "Cher? Are you serious?" this is the only perfume where people would stop me in stores and ask what I was wearing. I would have someone almost daily ask me. This stuff rocks, seriously.

The rain is awful here. There's another huge band coming through shortly and I have a Writer's Research training class at 2 for the new guide styles. I'm going to attach a screen shot.

I have been getting all of my stuff from Amazon from the gift certificates I got so I think UPS and the mailman think we're drug dealers or something. Every day there's tons of items. We've almost got them all though.

Saw Midnight Meat Train by Clive Barker last night. Really good movie, very gory and if you know Clive Barker then you know it was way out there.

What I'm reading: Castaways and Dead to the World.

Blah

It's raining and will be till Sunday or Monday and I still feel yucky. I'm tired too and have about a million things to do. I did finally finish my Writer's Research articles for the month so that's a big "yay" for me. I'm taking my vitamins, etc so that has helped some. I'm not in a bad mood much so that's great and I'm very thankful for a lot of things so see, I'm not that negative all the time. :) In fact, I can't complain about anything but being burned out with school and not feeling 100% great. Not bad at all.

Knowing...no spoilers

We saw Knowing today and I loved it. Tons of end of the world stuff, super cool blockbuster type accidents and a really cool biblical angle depending on your viewpoint. That's all I can say without spoiling it but if anyone else sees it I'd love to read your views on it. There's one part that is particularly awesome, yet horrifying. If anyone sees it it's the part with his son's "nightmare" and the fire. That's all I'll mention. Here's the rub though...

This family sat behind us with 3 or 4 coughing kids who talked through the whole thing quite loudly. They rattled food packages, cell phones rang, and talked and coughed. At one point I was waiting for a marching band to spring up out of their asses, I kid you not. They kicked my chair and I told Rich if they did it one more time I was kicking some ass. LOL I was that angry. However, 10 minutes before the end of the movie their plague bearers shut up and no one else kicked my chair so no fight ensued. If you can't make your kids keep quiet then for pete's sake leave them with a sitter or wait for a rental.

I won't even mention that the movie was a tad intense for kids that young and I can't anyway since I saw The Exorcist when I was 6 or 7. However, I was not allowed to talk through it. Nuff said.

Awesome movie, I loved it!

Spring Break

Just four more weeks and I can have my beach back. Last night we couldn't even go pick up R's water bottle from work because the line going out of Walmart was about 50 cars deep heading in the same direction. I used to love spring break but now it's just annoying. I think this means I'm getting old and that's just sad. Wow, I just depressed myself. LOL

Show off your fashion style with daniblack

daniblack is the latest in shoe fashion. From boots and sandals to eveningwear, daniblack has it all in gorgeous footwear. They use all natural products so if you see a shoe that says it’s made of leather, you are getting real leather. They do not use synthetic materials, everything is natural products. I saw quite a few sandals that I fell in love with. The Milly is absolutely stunning and I’d feel totally sexy wearing the Bolo. While they specialize in designer footwear, their prices are far below what you’d find on other designer sites. They all can be found at www.daniblack.com
Created by the husband and wife team of Daniel and Barbara Schwartz, daniblack has become a fashion requisite in the fashion world. Adorning the pages of such magazines as ELLE and People Style Watch, they’re the fashion shoesto watch for if you plan to be on the cutting edge of fashion.
While you can find their fashions at many upscale stores such as Bloomingdales and Macy’s, you can shop right from home by visiting their site and checking out the latest styles. Whether you want to make a fashion statement at the most exclusive club or show your peers your fashion sense at work, daniblack is the place to find the shoes.

Randomness

The allergy stuff works! I slept last night and woke up once and the cat was laying by my head but I had no symptoms! I moved him and he came back but finally I got him to lay next to the bed. I slept all night and woke up at 10 am! Maybe I slept so late in the past because I wasn't getting good sleep. This is great!

Watched two really good movies last night: The Killing Gene and Mirrors. I liked both a lot. I bought Let the Right One In, which is my first Swedish horror. Hey, maybe it's the first Swedish horror for everyone since I didn't know the swedes were big on horror movies. Then again, who knew that the French could make such awesome horror? Or the Koreans and Japanese, or Australians? I just love foreign horror.

Last night I was taping Swan growling over a bone. When I went to upload it I had taped everything else. When I was taping her, I didn't have it on. I turned it on afterward. I now have tape of Blitz sneezing, me laughing and the remote on the coffee table.

Take that!

I finally found out why I'm sick lately. It's the cat. See, I've had allergies for years, especially with pets but I used to take the shots from an allergist. Those worked great but now it'll cost me over $900 to be retested. Well, the last few weeks I've been sick a lot but the cat has been sleeping by my head lately. Take for instance last night. I went to bed just fine. I woke up 3 hours later coughing and wheezing and guess who was by my head? I found out online a couple of things to help like Bioallers and Allerpet. Both have excellent reviews from people with cat and dog allergies. All five star reviews like on Amazon, etc. I ordered both (which are surprisingly really cheap) but have to wait on them to arrive. I do have the exact symptoms though, called allergic asthma, which will not only make you have attacks but will make you seem to have a cold more often, etc. See, I knew it! I knew something was the problem, not that I was just sick. I take my vitamins, etc so I knew something was weird. I'll let you all know how good they work after trying them. Unfortunately, I have to wait a few days for them to arrive.

Mexican Coke

I am drinking Mexican Coke. It's pretty good. They're different because the Mexican Coke has real cane sugar instead of fructose. To me, they taste peppery and while there's not a clear difference, it does taste different. R found some here but I hear at Costco they sell it regularly. Since we have Sam's Club, I haven't seen it there. Good stuff though! I've read quite a few blogs that talk about each and all prefer the Mexican Coke. Now, if we can only get more here.

ShopWiki

We've all heard of Wiki but did you know there's also ShopWiki? It's a place where you can find most anything! From computers, computer monitors, keyboards and mice, you can find it all there. What they do is crawl the internet for every single store that sells what you're looking for. Most search engines show you stores that may have paid for an ad placement but then you're not getting all the stores that might have a sale you want.

With ShopWiki, you get all the stores meaning you get all of the sales! So, the next time you're looking for computer speakers, printers, or anything related to computers, try ShopWiki and see how easy it is to get the best deals.

Besides, what do you have to lose?

Last House on the Left

We saw this today and it was pretty darn good but it did have its cons as well as its pros.

Pros:
It's Last House on the Left for Pete's sake!
It was modernized so it lost some of the 70's cheese factor that only 70's horror has
I love the actors/actresses in it

Cons:
It had a brutal rape that was almost as realistic as Irreversible and while they showed that in bright color, the scenes with the parents were in the dark.
I hate dark movies!
They removed two very key parts that were infamous in the first. One involves the infamous oral sex scene and the other involved Sadie and the first girl, not Mary. It's a rather gross scene but still very much a part of LHOTL.

Now I can't recall if Mary survived in the first one or not since I only watch this about once a decade due to its depressive nature. Someone might clear that up for me.
I found it funny that a whole family left during the rape scene. Did they not see the first movie? If so, did they not read the ratings that listed that? Not sure but if they could have lasted through that uncomfortable part they would have been home free. I found it interesting that Wes Craven didn't redo it like I thought, he only produced it. All in all I did like it a lot, it just did have its faults. I'd give it a 7/10.

The weather

The weather here is totally perfect. It's a nice 74 degrees with a 14 mph wind. It just doesn't get better than that. The only way it could be more perfect is if it were summer and I was out in the pool. I have the doors open and the windows up and I'm loving it. It's times like these I'm glad I'm in Florida. We do have rain coming though, I guess it couldn't be perfect forever.

Boating safety

Boating and Alcohol Don't Mix
Did you know that operating a boat under the influence of alcohol is a crime just like if you drove your vehicle while drunk? It seems that most people should know that but some do not. In both instances, the legal limit is .08 and you can be fined or jailed for drinking while boating. Some places, such as Lake Havasu has saturation checkpoints. These are similar to checkpoints where you drive. You are waved over and should stop for the officer. Once they check the driver of the boat to ensure that they are sober, you’re well on your way to a fun time.

In Arizona alone there were 33 alcohol related accidents. Imagine the numbers for the entire country. There were 357 arrests so that’s quite a number of accidents that were prevented. Keep our waterways safe by always observing smart boating practices. If you plan to drink, let someone else do the driving that plans to remain sober. It’s not worth risking your health or life just for a few drinks. Why not have fun while still being sober? Not only is it smart judgment, it’s the law as well. Make sure that you are safe not just for yourself, but for everyone out on the water.

The Unborn

Okay, I don't care what the reviews said, this movie rocked. I was terrified! I honestly had real chills, not just regular ones, the deep chills watching this. Now I have this fear of my dog coming up to the bed at night with an upside down head. LOL It was nice seeing the Jewish angle to things as opposed to the usual Catholic exorcisms, etc.
Here's the trailer:

Spring Break in Panama City Beach

R works out at Boardwalk where all the MTV concerts and happenings are. Here are some random things:

-R pushed an MTV security guy cause he pushed him first. How cool, a scuffle with MTV personnel! LOL
-Lil Wayne concert...huge crowds...someone got stabbed I heard.
-some rapper/DJ guy tells R he can buy the whole place so they start comparing material things. R won that one in my opinion.

Here's the rundown from MTV:
On March 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, MTV will take you to the Panama City Beach for a slew of performances from the hottest stars! We're talking straight up amazing music that will put you in the spring break frame of mind no matter where you are. Plus we'll give you loads of tips and essential party rules so that when the time is right, you will be ready to hit the boardwalk with confidence. Get ready, this spring break could turn out to be the party of a lifetime!

Two movies

I've recently watched two great movies that were depressing. Revolutionary Road stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio and is set in 50's suburbia. It's a movie that shows how things were just as complicated and not everyone was happy and filled with joy like it seems. The Boy in the Stryped Pajamas is a movie about an 8-year old boy who befriends another boy in a concentration camp that his father, David Thewlis runs. This one had a horrifying ending. Good thing I wasn't depressed today. With that said, both were excellent movies and kept me riveted throughout.

Lord help me

I have been on the phone with Amazon five times this weekend and a vendor about 3 to 4 times due to Amazon. I got a $340 gift certificate, spent about $180 of it and Amazon wouldn't let me buy anything else. I kept getting an e-mail saying my item had been canceled. After 5 phone calls they figure it out and for my trouble I got a $5 gift certificate amount. Sheesh! I won't go into the details because I'm annoyed but all is well now....supposedly. We'll know in a couple of hours because that's how long their tech problem e-mail takes to show up.

Got a new site to do which is Coram's and no, it isn't really started yet but you can look all you want.

Why is it when you have some money then it rains money? I'm so not complaining but it's strange. We got a refund from Chase due to an overpayment on our escrow, I got the check for the site, work was busy, I got the Amazon GC and we went to Starbucks and was given free drinks and some of the Vivannos for free. I am truly blessed this month.

Now if only we both weren't sick it'd be perfect. R is sick now too. I'm getting better and he's getting worse. :(

I want to do some better videos of the dogs, etc. Between us being sick and all that we didn't do any other than my lame one video but we will. And wait'll summer when we can do some pool videos. You all will be tired of them.

Stop, thief!

Donner is a thief, I know that. He brings me pens that are mine, socks (socksesses at our house they're called), wrappers, you name it. Today I decided to make some brownies that had this fudge packet that goes on top. I had the packet on the counter till they cooked. Now mind you this packet wasn't opened and I had not paid special attention to it. However, when I went back in to get said fudge packet it was gone and so was Donner. I can't find it and hopefully he can't get into it since it was sealed and you had to cut it to open it. The brownies were still good and he's not sick so I think he hid it. We have to put up everything harmful from him but I didn't realize he'd know what was in the foil sealed packet. Maybe he doesn't and just wanted to steal it.

A thank you

...to my friends who took the time to e-mail, comment and instant message me a send me "get well" wishes. Only one person said I was sick all the time and I will mourn Erik's loss in friendship. LOL Just kidding. I am feeling somewhat better just not great yet. I am up late and will head to bed shortly and get some undisturbed rest I hope. I did an article and my banking...oh, and some laundry. I also played games, which relaxes me. That or it gives me carpal tunnel syndrome. One or the other.

Randomness:

-They can put Danny and Adam on American Idol as the top two and end it all now because no one is as good as those two IMO.
-It's supposed to warm up to the upper 60's today but it's 37 right now so it better get to warming.
-Why do I sleep better in the daytime than night? I think my schedule is all screwed up.
-I mispronounce words sometimes and it's hilarious. My word tonight was puree. I said Pure-ee and it's pure-a. I also say aloom-nie for alumni. I crack me up. Sometimes no matter how hard I fight it I really do sound about as country as you can get and it just kills me. Add the accent with frequent trips to Wal-mart and you get the picture.
-Big Love made me sad the other night. I was really starting to like Kathy and that was just awful. And on her wedding day as well. :( I can't wait for the finale although I'll miss the show. I will also miss Secret Diary of a Call Girl which ends this Sunday for the season. They should make them all longer: Big Love, Weeds, Call Girl and Dexter. BTW, I still miss Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, Oz and the Sopranos.

I just noticed that I talk too much. Maybe I'm delirious because it really is bedtime.

Blah!

I'm sick today. I have another darn sinus infection and the first person who tells me I am sick all the time is no longer my friend. I am not sick all the time, I just have a big mouth and talk about it more. I feel like crap and I have tons to do. Work is semi slow so I have 5 WRG articles due by the 5th, I have the newsletter due soon, I have school Tues and Thurs and I don't want to go even though I've missed a few classes already, etc. The only good thing is I might have two websites to do and that's a good thing. I just want it to be summer. No school and maybe no sinus infections. Best of all, no cold weather. I think I am becoming burned out a little. That's why summer will be good because I can take a break somewhat. I'll still have work and articles but no school. Can you tell I'm tired of school? I love it but I'm just tired of it these last two semesters. I need a happy pill and a doctor from Star Trek who can scan me and fix things like allergies and dental stuff and doggone broken toes, stuff like that. I think I'll head to bed and dream of summer.

A busy day

I had a busy day today doing just constructive things like working. We also cleaned up the 100 gallon salt tank and that's a chore in itself. Laundry, etc. I didn't even go anywhere and spend one cent. We did get caught up on a few shows and watched Celebrity Apprentice which is so much fun. BTW, I did get my video camera ordered but I honestly consider it my birthday present - early. I didn't want to get something that extravagant right now but I do want one for my birthday so it'll just be a month early. Besides, it's a tax deduction too since I'll be using it to do work related videos.

Pregnancy beauty products

Beaute de Maman beauty products are what the celebrity moms are talking about. They’re safe for your baby and yourself and that’s of the upmost importance when trying out beauty products. Beaute de Maman Beauty Products use only natural and herbal ingredients so the mother to be can feel safe and assured that her baby is not harmed by harsh chemicals or toxins.

They have any kind of product a mother to be needs such as face scrub, stretch mark cream or body cream. Each product is fully tested and evaluated before it ever reaches the public. I thought the gift box set for pregnant women looked really nice. It includes stretch mark cream, nipple cream and facial scrub, all in one convenient gift set.

The creator of the products is Dr. Michele Brown, who is a Yale trained doctor. As an OB/GYN she understands the importance of products specifically for pregnant women and worked to create a line of products you can trust. Dr. Brown has a very busy obstetrical business in Stamford Connecticut and deals with pregnancies all the time. This gives her the insight that along with an organic chemist she worked closely with to create a product she believes in.

Red Mist

I just sent this movie to a couple of people to look at cause it looked good.
I got it off of Apple so it's a new release, right? Okay but it's also listed as Freak Dog. And now I just bought it at Walmart for $10. What's the deal? I don't get it, is it new or not and why is it on Apple Trailers if it's at Walmart? Either way I just watched it and it was pretty darn good! I enjoyed it.

Pie and Branson - two great things

This year April 20th through the 29th, Branson Missouri is hosting the Great American Pie Contest and you can book your slot at the Hilton and join the likes of Al Roker from the Today Show. Bring your best pie recipe and you could be the recipient of a wealth of prizes including $25,000 plus a trip for two for a 4-day/3-night fun-filled vacation in Branson. They even have set up special rates and rooms blocked off just for this event.
There’s plenty to do in Branson while you’re there. While you’re staying at the Hilton Promenade, Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel or Branson Landing, you can enjoy amusement parks such as White Water, Celebration City and Silver Dollar City. There are tons of shows such as the Dixie Stampede, which is a dinner theater with 32 horses and their riders performing tricks in a 32,000 seat arena and even a haunted house. There’s even the NAIA college basketball championship, FLW Bass Tournament, and the Branson Air Show. With so many amusement parks, theaters and dining, you can find plenty to do in Branson.
If I were going to Branson I’d have to check out some of the many amusement parks and live entertainment. What better time to do it than during the pie contest? I could bring a pie and maybe even win!
