Finally...

We got to use the pool - and at night! The water was so warm last night and the sky was gorgeous. We have this super strong laser pointer that is so powerful that you can dot clouds with it. We actually don't use it when planes are flying by. I always hope someone will see our green dots on the clouds and wonder what it is. I know I would. Anyway, it seems the dogs like to use the pool at night too. I think this weekend will be our holiday weekend since we couldn't do outside stuff then due to all the rain we had. I can't wait!

Jump to the front of the line for Manta

Sea World in Orlando has a super cool new ride Manta, just opened this month and you can get a front of the line pass! All you have to do is go to their site and participate in all six of the activities in the “Participate and Win” section and you’re done. It’s that easy.

There’s a Manta quiz you can take and you can submit pictures to Flickr. There’s a fill your row section and that’s just where you send your friends an e-mail referral code to join in on the fun. Submit to your future is where you upload a video to YouTube telling everyone how excited you are to ride Manta and there’s a section where you can print out a mask and upload the picture to Flickr. Last but not least, there’s an activity where you simply follow @RealShamu on Twitter.

Perform two of these activities and get a free electronic photograph from your ride on Manta but if you do all six, you get to jump to the head of the line. Imagine how fun that would be. No long lines, no waiting in the crowd, just a straight pass to the front. Try it out and see how much fun it is to play and win that free pass to the front of the line on Manta.

True Blood

I can't wait till this comes back in June. We got our box set of season one yesterday and started watching it already. I'm on book 5 of the series and I'm totally addicted to those as well. We have about two weeks before the series comes back so we're going to try and finish up the first season again. :)

Farm Town Fun

This cracks me up. It was a guy harvesting my farm and he had a question.

Eric: what do i do with animals?
Florida Girl: just sell them or keep them
Eric: what happens when u eat them?
Florida Girl: how do you eat them?
Eric: i think i saw an icon where u can eat them?
Florida Girl: ROFL
Florida Girl: let me look
Eric: ok
Florida Girl: nope
Eric: oh ok
Florida Girl: just move, sit, sleep
Florida Girl: oh wait
Florida Girl: eat
Florida Girl: it makes them eat, you don't eat them

Jon & Kate Plus 8

I have to admit that I hated the show without ever having seen it. Why? Because everywhere I turned there they were on the cover of every single magazine. And if they weren't on the cover they were inside somewhere. The other day I was flipping channels while having lunch and the show was on and yep, I watched it. Not bad at all and I even recorded a couple of interesting sounding ones tonight. Yes, they have sucked me in. As for The Hills, I tried that show and hated it so it's not my feeble mind making me a sucker. Look at it this way though, they'd need Small Business Loans to run that household and now with all of the endorsements I guess they're set.

Don't drive in the heat

Everyone needs cold AC while driving, especially living here in Florida. I remember when I was little we rented a car to go to Disney and my crayons melted, that’s how hot it was. To get cold AC you need to have a functional air conditioning compressor and at Discount Compressor you can find what you need at great prices to fit any budget. Make them your automotive headquarters and never worry again about taking a trip with no AC or AC that doesn’t blow cold enough air. It’s a necessity in the summer and you can find everything you need at one place – Discount Compressor.

It figures

R is off for the holidays on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. All I want to do is grill out and use the pool and here is our forecast for those 3 days:

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Chance of rain 60 percent. Highs 79 to 84.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 80 to 85.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 82 to 87.

At least the temperatures will be nice enough but not if it rains. Hopefully they're wrong.

Payday Loan

If you need money fast consider using Faxless Payday Loans. It’s bad enough to need money fast without having to worry over finding a fax machine to send in work or banking information. With Apex, you don’t have to worry about sending in a thing by fax machine. Everything is done online; you can get up to $1500 and know in minutes. Most people are approved and no credit is needed. Best of all, it’s available for you to use 24 hours a day, 7 days per week! Don’t beg from friends or family when you can get a loan online from the privacy of your home and no one needs to know.

Why do I do it?

Why do I watch depressing movies and read depressing books? I have no clue other than it making me feel better that it's not me, if that makes sense. Right now I'm reading Columbine and it's really heartbreaking, just like it was when it happened. I even remember where I was at that time. I was at the foot doctor. R always asks how come I watch such depressing movies and all but like I said, perhaps it makes me feel more grateful for what I have in my life. At least that's what I tell myself.

Mosquito Magnet

Mosquitoes are so annoying. They’re out there every time we try to grill or go in the pool near dusk. Worse, they get into your house and not only do the bites hurt; they can carry diseases such as West Nile Virus. Now there’s a way to put a stop to these pests. With the mosquito magnet trap, it mimics humans with a release of carbon dioxide so the mosquitoes are attracted to it and are trapped and dead within a day’s time. Just check out mosquito magnet reviews and see what others have to say about this amazing product. You’ll see how effective it was for them. Enjoy your summer without fighting off mosquitoes with the Mosquito Magnet!

Bull-effin-hell-frack-no

Okay, so as not to offend any sensitive readers I took every version of a curse word I could think of and stuck them together to relay my sentiments of ADAM LOSING American Idol. What the hell? Nothing against Chris but geez. I mean Adam got a duet with Kiss and Chris got Keith Urban. That alone should tell you something. I am crushed and yeah, I know I sound like a tween but give me a break.

A mighty wind blew...

....and just knocked down a huge tree limb. I didn't know what was blowing across the yard. At least it didn't damage anything. I told you all it was windy, I guess it was windier than I thought. The sun is out though and the temperature is a perfect 74 right now. I should get a picture of this limb that is now laying across our fence but since I am too lazy to do that I will include this cute picture of Swan laying amongst our drinks.

Here there be zombies

The other night we're pulling into a parking lot and I swear this guy walking down the side of the road was a zombie. I'm not the only one who saw it, so did R. Now let's just hope that I wasn't scared of some poor guy who was sick or crippled but he walked and looked like a zombie. Let's just hope he was goofing off. So I ask R, "What if we drove by to take a closer look and he hissed at us?" That set us off on the "what if" game I love to play. R said he'd run over him and then we discussed using a gun. Either way the dude was scaring me. I like to play the game and ask things like, "What if we're in the hot tub and a zombie pokes his head over the fence?" R will usually say mundane things like he'd just go inside. Now that's not fun at all is it? You really have to be prepared for these things you know. LOL

The good books...where are they?

I finished up the shelves in the exercise room and logged 378 paperback books. Looking over what I had, I found some of my top 10 books of all time in the horror genre, and for me, most any genre. My question is, where have all the good books gone? Granted, I'm loving the Sookie Stackhouse books and there are others but where are authors like John Tigges, T.E.D.Klein, Ruby Jean Jensen, Paula Trachtman, Josh Webster, Ken Eulo and Rick Hautala? These are some of my favorite authors who seemed to have dropped off the planet. It's sad because I wouldn't part with my Tigges books if I were offered hundreds of dollars.

Even some of my favorite writers who still write aren't as good (to me and I know that's subjective) as they were. Like Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Robert McCammon, Andrew Neiderman, etc.

I want the 80's back (just in horror, not those awful clothes I wore).

PS one of my favorite books ever is called Abomination by Michael C Norton yet I can't find another thing by him.

TV

My hectic viewing habits are just about ending for the season. No more Biggest Loser, Survivor, Criminal Minds, American Idol, etc. Here are some thoughts:

Spoilers for some shows if you haven't seen them yet.

Grey's Anatomy: Loved the part with George cause that one threw me for a loop. Never saw it coming. Izzy though? I was rather pissed. She's annoying and I knew it was coming but what's up with her getting her memory back and them bammmm, she's gone?

American Idol: WTF? Chris beat out Danny? Even worse, not even a million out of 88 million votes separated a single one of them. If Chris wins I'll be very upset.

Biggest Loser: Sorry, I wanted Mikey or Tara to win. I never cared for Helen and she's too skinny now.

Survivor: Noooooooo, my beloved dragon slayer is gone! I'll miss Coach and his eccentric stories.

That's it for now. Some shows are still on for another week so I can't comment but those were the ones to start with. Don't even freaking get me started on America's Next Top Model!

Dream vacation in Kissimmee

Ah, Kissimmee. What a wonderful place to visit during the winter. Why the winter, you ask? Well, living in Florida I know that the temperature is quite near boiling point mid-summer so I like the mild weather that the Kissimmee area provides during the winter. I can leave here where it’s downright cold at times and go a little ways south to perfectly mild weather.

I think I’d visit and bring my video camera this time since it’s new; that and the camera, of course. Why, I could visit Disney and Busch Gardens while I stayed in the beautiful city of Kissimmee. If I wanted to hang out around town perhaps I’d visit one of the many museums that the city has to offer like the Kissimmee Air Museum. I think I’d like to go shopping though. Maybe a ride to Historic Downtown Kissimmee or even the Maingate Flea Market. It doesn’t matter as long as I’m shopping! Then I could come back to my hotel and grab something to eat or lounge by the pool at the Radisson. I do love luxury and why not stay at a hotel with plenty of amenities?

What’s great is that right now you can enter to win your dream trip to Kissimmee. They’re giving away three weekend getaways for two people and two weeklong vacations for up to four people. All you have to do is enter the sweepstakes!

The pool is ready

Well, it's up and running so that's a great start. Of course it figures that tomorrow the high is 87 but there's a 50% chance of rain. If it rains there goes my mid day break for some fun and sun. Hopefully it'll pass by like today where it only thundered and sprinkled once. I got a lot done today too so I definitely could have taken a break. We'll see how it goes.

Freelance jobs

If you’re looking for extra cash and need a place to find a job then why not try Freelance Jobs? Freelancing is what I do and I love it. You can make extra cash to supplement your existing income or get good enough at it to make it a full time income. The sky is the limit when working for yourself.

Cataloging books

I've started on cataloging my books in the exercise room. These are mostly paperbacks and I have two shelves done with about 8 more to go. Then I can do the hardbacks in the master bedroom. It's a long process but I like knowing what I have and straightening up those hellacious shelves that were the epitome of messy. I like doing it, I just hate toting them back and forth from the bedroom to my computer. That's the PITA part. I use the Collectorz software and I love it.

Rustic Furniture

What do you think of when you hear about rustic furniture? I tend to think of a cabin in a forest. Check out the gorgeous rustic furniture at Scenic Furniture and see if it looks like what you had in mind.

Oh the weather outside is....

....nice! We were able to open up the doors and windows again. It's 68 outside, which made it cooler outside than the 75 we had our a/c set to. I just love it. I just hope it's warmed back up again so we can finally use the pool. We got the chemicals today so those can go in tomorrow. I can't wait till Memorial Day so we can grill out something and use the pool all day. You can't imagine how much I have missed it. Can't wait to take videos of the dogs in there as well. :)

Kissimmee - excitement and fun

If you’re planning a trip to Florida anytime soon, Kissimmee is the place to visit. Not only does Kissimmee have awesome shopping and attractions but it also has that quiet and serene aura that some people may crave even more than excitement. Whether you are into rollercoasters or quiet walks by the beach, Kissimmee has it all. From water parks to air boat rides, you can do it all in one place but here’s something you may not have considered. While in Kissimmee you have that small town friendliness and laid back attitude yet you are just a short drive from all of the major attractions such as Disney World and Busch Gardens. You might even be stopping by on your way to take a cruise. Don’t let your drive to the cruise ship be any less exciting than the trip itself. Stay a while in Kissimmee and enjoy the entire vacation.

Right now Kissimmee is having a giveaway. You can enjoy everything Kissimmee has to offer and at no cost. There are three weekend getaways for a couple and two week-long trips for up to four people. This is a sweepstakes you really need to enter. Imagine going on your trip to beautiful Kissimmee for free!

Poor Swan

She didn't make it. It seems she fell out while eating her dinner. LOL She does this quite often. We always say, "Well, Swan didn't make it" or "Poor Swan is gone." Isn't she such a cutie?

Clearing up that Pawpaw thing

I had more than one person want to know who Pawpaw is that did our rooms. He's a neighbor who does yardwork and a totally great person. He's fast, nice, inexpensive and great to have around. We've called him and asked for help with different things and he'll come right out. The thing is, he doesn't even have to do anything extra. He's retired from the owner of his own large company, has two homes (just that I know of) and all that but he likes to do the work and stay busy. He reminds me of my dad with his work ethic. So that's Pawpaw whose real name is G.W. :)

Punk singles

Looking for punk personals? Are you into punk and searching for someone like you? Well, Punk Match is the place you want to be. They’re a free dating service where you can sign up to find others with similar interests. You can find friends or find your true love all in one place.

iTouch

I can't get over how cool this iTouch is. I finally had time to play with it tonight and uploaded some of our pictures on there as well as some applications. Not only did I get free games, I got Weatherbug and Fmylife! I just love it. Oh I also got a cool app that turns your screen into water that you can touch and make ripples, etc. Pretty cool. It does e-mail, photos, I put my YouTube videos on there, etc. I am so glad I got this little gadget.

Imagine using a company with the latest technology but an eye on customer satisfaction all rolled into one company. Larry Carney and Tony Samper know how to treat a customer right and whether you need a brand new A/C unit or just need your existing unit tuned up a bit, if you live in or near the Houston area they are the company to use. Don’t trust someone you’re not sure of, go with American Services.

I am so excited

Pawpaw just left and cleaned out both of our bedrooms so that now we can use the bowflex and the elliptical at the same time. Not only that but I can now get to my paperbacks and sort through those and log them into the software I have for collectors. It's great to walk in there and see a clean and straightened out room that you can actually use. I can't wait to get the books done and sorted. I might work on that tomorrow since I'm rather busy right now. It was so worth it because we had procrastinated forever. We'd clean it up but didn't find the room to put both exercise machines in there but there's plenty of room. I'm thrilled!

Help out shelter pets

-1
The Home Again Web Site is a place that is a fundraising Web site specifically created to help shelter animals. They are supporting the Be Kind to Animals week, which runs May 3-9 and was created by the American Humane Association. Pet owners are encouraged to register their pets and in turn, Home Again will make a donation through Bring Pets Home, which is a site that was created to fundraise for animals in shelters. Not only that, but their site has retailers that when you make a purchase on their site, they donate money again. This doesn’t cost you a penny extra so basically, your shopping is helping donate money.

They are more than just a site to register your pets. If you pay for a subscription you get much, much more. As well as microchipping, you also get access to a plethora of pet services such as 24 hour medical assistance in case of emergencies, pet insurance and travel expenses if a pet is located more than 500 miles from their original home. Microchipping is an excellent way of locating lost pets and you get even more than that with HomeAgain. Support the cause by visiting their site and registering your pets or even doing a little shopping. The pets need your help.

Rock night on AI

Last night American Idol rocked! And I mean that in more than one way. Adam was awesome and the duet at the end with Allison was great as well. In fact, I liked her much more than I usually do. I like her singing but the songs she usually picks aren't what she should. However, it must just be us because when we do like her she doesn't do as well at judging and vice versa. But back to my true love, Adam. He was awesome, doing Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love.

tradeMONSTER for online trading

If you are searching for an online options broker then tradeMONSTER is the place to go. This trading platform has customizable options that you can tweak to your own personal specifications. I’ve used other trade platforms but this one has better ways that I can make it more personal and function to how I want it. For instance, tradeMONSTER has educational resources to help you out when working with their product and I love that they have real time information and customizable charts and tools. Some places have tools that are hard to follow or make into something you can personally use and understand but with tradeMONSTER’s options to customize; you can make it something that you can personally use with ease.

What is really neat and cost efficient is that you can open up a free Paper Trading account, which allows you to test out their service without having to pay upfront. What Paper Trade does is it’s a stock market trading simulator that allows you to test out things and see how you like it. It’s a virtual platform where you learn how to trade stocks and use the platform before you commit to opening a real account. This is excellent for the person who has never traded stocks before. Imagine seeing it in real time before you buy. Not only that, you will be learning how to use their platform and how to trade stocks without spending a dime or risking your stocks. They even have a neat video that shows the account in action so you can see just how things will look.

Butterfly Effect

No, not the movie. I love theorizing about this. How one single thing can change your whole life and others as well. Take today for instance. If we'd left 5 minutes earlier or later, taken a different route, if I hadn't had a dentist appointment today, etc and so on, we wouldn't have had that accident. Never mind what all he might have done differently. And let's say we hadn't been there but he did the same thing. Would he have gone into oncoming traffic and been hurt worse or killed? I love talking about this but most people just brush me off. I find it all fascinating.

Our accident

We had an accident a little while ago. We were headed to the dentist and a guy on a bicycle went through traffic and ran into the side of our truck. We were in the turning lane. So, the cops came and the ambulance took him to the hospital. He had road rash and his bike is toast. What sucks is the cops are saying it's our fault because we were in the turning lane too soon and the insurance co. is saying it's his fault for hitting us by not being at a crosswalk and going in between vehicles. I think it's his fault. Hopefully he's okay though. I don't want nothing to happen to him obviously, I just don't think we should foot the hospital bill or be sued when he ran into us. Geico is investigating it further but says we weren't at fault. Here's a picture of our minimal damage.

Ensure your child's future health

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and the most favorite gifts I can think of giving was the ones where we took the moms out to dinner in addition to their gifts. However, imagine giving the potential gift of life to your child. When you use Cryo-Cell U-Cord you can do just that. Cryo-Cell has been around since 1992, helping mothers preserve their baby’s umbilical cord to be used for future use in helping with diseases like leukemia, lymphoma and anemia. The great thing is that cord blood is easily harvested and neither the mother nor the baby has any health risks or pain. Cord blood is a perfect match for the baby during its entire life so if you bank your baby’s cord blood, it’s there when and if you ever need it to ensure your child’s health. Imagine having a secure and dependable resource if problems arise and your child depends on a transplant. Best of all, there’s no cost to retrieve the stem cells if you bank the umbilical cord. Did you also know that your child’s cord blood stem cells have a one in four chance of matching a brother or sister’s? Ensure your child’s future health by using Cryo-Cell.

The Shrimp Boat

Those of you local know about The Shrimp Boat Restaurant that just opened. We finally got to go last night for my birthday dinner since R was really sick last weekend.

The place is gorgeous and I'd overall rate it a 7 or 8 out of 10. The reason it does not get a 10 is due to a couple of things. One being that I think side orders should not cost more for certain things. Like the grits. If you want grits and it is a choice they offer why should it cost more? Grits are cheap. They also serve bottled soda so you have to buy a new one each time you run out. The Ahi tuna we got was very small and didn't come with any sauces. That's how come it lost a few points. Now, on to the good stuff.

The place is gorgeous, did I mention that? The view is spectacular and everyone was friendly.

I had Seafood LaCosta which is crab, shrimp and scallops baked in a cream sauce with tons of cheese on top. I also had a cup of she-crab soup, my salad and the gouda grits. The food was awesome. Oh and we had the Ahi Tuna as an appetizer. Everything was delicious and the service was very fast (although we did go quite late).

I just think for a $90 meal with tip that we shouldn't have to pay extra for things like grits. I can see charging for the millionaire baked potato but no cokes or grits. I still rate it high and loved the food, atmosphere and service.

Meet others with body art

If you love tattoos and are looking for other tattoo singles then there’s a dating site for you. Where body and art connect is their slogan and it’s a great place to find someone who shares your interests. Whether it’s tattoos or piercings, there’s someone out there just for you. You can browse their site and join for free. Why not take a look at what they have to offer? You can even sign up if you’re just looking for friends and not a lifetime commitment. So if you have an interest in body are but can’t find others like you then find them here.

iTouch

I bought me one of these today after a gift certificate on Amazon. I hope I like it because they're not cheap but I hate to nickel and dime my gift certificates away so I splurged on it. They look pretty awesome so we'll see how it goes.

OMG I totally stole this from another blogger but it was too freaking hilarious not to.

Welcome back?

I don't know if some of you remember how I used to write for DS and they let me go. It sucked because I'd make around $250-$450 per week of extra money and losing that was just awful. Well last night I got an e-mail from them saying how I haven't written for them in a while and they want me back. I was like WTF? Hey, I don't mind because I sure enjoyed that weekly spending money (and sometimes bill money) from them. Now I just have to find the time but I sure like that they asked me back. Now I don't feel like a loser due to being let go back then.

They are family owned and operated and specialize in a variety of skills and services such as water heating service, drain cleaning, sewage services, water well and grease trap. That’s just a small amount of what all they can do for you. They are fully licensed and there to serve the customer in the best way possible.

The owner has more than 35 years of experience in the plumbing business and their business is registered with the Better Business Bureau, a member of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association and a gold member of the Chamber of Commerce. You can’t go wrong with someone so skilled and experienced in the business and a prominent member of the community. With testimonials right on their site, you can see for yourself how well they do business and they even have a $15 off coupon for your first service call. How can you go wrong with that?
