The Shrimp Boat

Those of you local know about The Shrimp Boat Restaurant that just opened. We finally got to go last night for my birthday dinner since R was really sick last weekend.

The place is gorgeous and I'd overall rate it a 7 or 8 out of 10. The reason it does not get a 10 is due to a couple of things. One being that I think side orders should not cost more for certain things. Like the grits. If you want grits and it is a choice they offer why should it cost more? Grits are cheap. They also serve bottled soda so you have to buy a new one each time you run out. The Ahi tuna we got was very small and didn't come with any sauces. That's how come it lost a few points. Now, on to the good stuff.

The place is gorgeous, did I mention that? The view is spectacular and everyone was friendly.

I had Seafood LaCosta which is crab, shrimp and scallops baked in a cream sauce with tons of cheese on top. I also had a cup of she-crab soup, my salad and the gouda grits. The food was awesome. Oh and we had the Ahi Tuna as an appetizer. Everything was delicious and the service was very fast (although we did go quite late).

I just think for a $90 meal with tip that we shouldn't have to pay extra for things like grits. I can see charging for the millionaire baked potato but no cokes or grits. I still rate it high and loved the food, atmosphere and service.
