Wolfenstein

I finally got to play this and it was a blast. It's been a year since I've played XBox. I used to play all the time but got busy with school and work. I guess those are my excuses. Anyway, Castle Wolfenstein was always my favorite game so this is awesome. I did figure out that R helps me play the same way he says I teach him computer stuff. I heard a lot of, "go left, what are you doing?, shoot him!, stoppppp!" while I was playing. I guess that's fair since he hears a lot of, "no, not that button, what are you doing?, don't click that, just cut and paste that!" from me.

Tattoo

I am thinking of girlying up my tattoo. I love it but it's too plain right now so we went to the tattoo shop last night and I picked out some vines and flowers I want underneath it and might color in the letters. I don't want big flowers or hot pink but I do want some tiny flowers with the colors I saw there like deep purple, deep red or deep royal blue. Those colors were gorgeous. It won't be huge but just enough to girly up mine. Will take pictures once it's done. Talked to Shelly who did mine originally and will go back to her once we're ready. R is looking at a big tribal cross for his back.

Always be prepared

I love storms and I love taking pictures of storms. Yesterday we went out for coffee and the sky was the most beautiful I have ever seen. The sun was going down and the clouds were black so it was this apocalyptic orange/black sky. We went on to the store when I decided we should get our camera. I had my cell phone but it turned out blurry. The store is only 5 minutes from our house but by the time we got the camera the sky had changed. I got a picture but not the one I wanted. I need to put a camera back in the truck. We had one in there but the heat makes the batteries go dead pretty fast. It figures though. A once in a lifetime shot and I missed it. This is the best I could get but now the clouds are dark blue and you can barely see the sunset.

Fantasy Stimulus Package

If you have someone in your life like I do that loves fantasy football then WaiverWire is the place to go. I know that my guy would love to be able to view projections, stats and software to help him win in his own fantasy league. That’s not all, you can check out Fantasy football draft software, Fantasy football news, Fantasy football analysis, a Fantasy football forum, Fantasy football research, have access to over 100 Local NFL team news feeds and fantasy football rankings, Fantasy player comparisons and a lot more; anything you need for that perfect Fantasy football league.

Why not let your special guy know about WaiverWire? There are three packages he may be interested in: the stimulus package, the in-season pass or the full-season pass. Each package has different benefits and he can even sign up for free with the stimulus package or get a risk free trial on the full-season pass that allows him the intelligent draft software. The savings are great as well. The usual prices range from $19.99 to $99.99 but now the highest cost is only $29.99 and the lowest is free! You can’t beat that kind of special and your special guy will really appreciate it.

Criss Angel

Some of you know that I know how to do hypnosis. Well, tonight we were watching Criss Angel and supposedly he was going to make you at home, levitate. This only works if you are alone or the people you are with are doing it too. He's using hypnosis to make you feel as if you are levitating and he's a darn good stage hypnotist if I say so myself. I did it but R didn't. Since he could see that I was not actually levitating I will say that to me, it felt as if I was almost until I brought myself out of the hypnosis. Pretty cool. Now how he makes the illusion of others floating I'm not sure but there's a trick to everything. Pretty neat stuff he does though.

An odd ID check

We found something really odd the other night. We had gotten the new Wolfenstein game (love shooting those Nazis) and went to get the strategy guide while at Wal-Mart. When the cashier was ringing it up, it had the message to check to see if the purchaser was over 17. I find that hilarious. I know the game is mature rated but the book? You can go in any bookstore at 13 and buy most any book as long as it’s not a porn magazine but you can’t buy a strategy guide that has no nudity in it? It’s a violent game but seriously, it’s a strategy guide. I bet I could find a book in Wal-Mart that’s fiction which has more violence and sex in it that our strategy guide. Sometimes the rules are just too strange.

Finally, the weekend

I'm annoyed today with trying to do 50 things at once but now things are starting to flow. R decided to vacuum the pool and while we tried to keep the twins inside they drove me batty barking and wanting to go out. We finally had to let them go just so I could work. He didn't want them in the pool while trying to clean it.

But now it's the weekend. We've got some awesome Outback deals so we're going there and picking up coffee. I have two movies at home, plus the one we bought and some shows so there's no shortage on some relaxing movie time. I also have a lunch date maybe with a friend tomorrow at the new Indian restaurant.

I started on the new website but won't post anything till they approve how it is looking.

A new job research board

Image

InpulseShopper - The Market Research Experience is an exciting site where you can become part of a plethora of resources for jobs. Become part of the workforce of mystery shoppers, retail auditors, merchandisers, online survey panelists and brand ambassadors. It’s a national job board where you can find up to date leads and information entry level job openings in those markets. This is a specialized niche that you can help fill the demand for. The membership is free if you’re trying to find a job or even if you need to post an opening. So whether you’re an employer that has an opening that needs filled or someone looking for a job, this is the place for you.

Each type of job opening has a description so you can see exactly what is required of you and if you have the skills needed to apply. All of the registered recruiters are pre-screened businesses, vendors and corporations that have legitimate job openings so you don’t have to worry about applying for a job that leads you nowhere. In today’s economy most of us can use a part time job and these are perfect for someone looking to earn an income that may lead to a full time position.

Fans?

I know I'm going to annoy someone with this but there's something I don't get. I have a fan page on Facebook for Karsun Designs, which you can visit here. I don't understand why some people don't click the button to be a fan after I send it to them and they're family or close friends. Yet others I don't even know are fans and that really makes my day. How hard is it to just click the button? If I had a close friend or family member who asked me to be a fan of their business I would do it in a second. It's petty I know but it's not so petty to me. Oh well, please do if you want.

One Second After

I'm reading the best book that I've read in a long time, other than my Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse books. It's called One Second After and it's about an EMP that happens. I've learned a lot about EMP's and the author made it easy to understand for a layman. It's definitely something to think about when you imagine what it'd be like with no electronic equipment whatsoever in an entire country. That means no cars in recent years will work. No electricity, powered water, no cash registers, no telephones, nothing. No communication and no way to have food and essentials shipped or manufactured and processed. It's a lot to imagine. I'm not even that far in the book and I'm already spellbound. I have yet to find a boring or slow spot.

Family friendly widget

ParentsConnect.com has a cool widget you can install on your blog. It helps moms and dads everywhere find fun activities and events in their area. Now how cool is that? What is awesome is that the blog that has the most views for the widget wins $1000. So, not only can you install this awesome tool, you can also win some cold, hard cash, which we all can use right now.

This widget is neat. You just type in your zip code and it shows you the local family fun events in your area. In today’s hectic society, we can all use more time with our family doing fun and healthy things. With this widget, you can find out where to go to do just that. There are things listed like music events, children’s activities and other types of family friendly activities. It’s a useful tool that any family can enjoy utilizing. That way you can choose what sort of activity your family will be interested in.

Don’t forget that you can win $1000 as well, just for installing the widget on your blog.

More bartering

I have no fewer than 4 places that want to work out a trade for websites. Like I said, I don't mind since I'm getting an equal amount of services or merchandise. I keep talking to different businesses that are on hard times right now. Not all of them but a few. I think the economy hasn't left too many unscathed. I hope that the websites help out and perhaps things will change for the better soon. I know everyone wishes that would happen.

What kind of truTV watcher are you?

We definitely have the truTV effect in our home. I find myself yelling at the TV all the time. Not only that but I like to stare open mouthed at some of the things I see. Maybe I get that from my mom who loves to talk to the television set just in case the people on there can hear her.

My favorite show on truTV is Dominick Dunne’s Power, Privilege and Justice. Dominick Dunne is a best-selling author and columnist who keeps us entertained with notorious cases involving the high society members that you might think would not commit these crimes. Yet there they are, accused of murder in sometimes the most horrifying ways. I find murder cases fascinating as it is but sometimes I get angry enough to yell at the TV and person accused, as if they might hear me. That’s what truTV does, it’s the truTV effect.

Not only can you see that show but there are all types of shows for anyone to enjoy. World’s Wildest Vacations, Black Gold, Disorder in the Court and more and available for your viewing pleasure. Now where I give the most reaction to the show I mentioned, perhaps you might be the kind of person to slap the person next to you when you see a guy get bit by a shark or a high speed police chase. Whichever it is, find it on truTV.

Watch truTV with caution because when the stories are real, the effect is actual.

Various stuff

Went to the fish fry and pool party and it was a blast. Our peppers were a hit with all of them eaten that I could tell. Awesome food and great company.

Watched the MMA fight tonight between Gina Carano and Cris Cyborg tonight and boy was it a good one. I was rooting for Gina but she got her butt kicked big time in the first round. Right at the bell too. That Cris Cyborg sure can fight but Gina was undefeated up until tonight.

R's hours were cut. This economy sucks. Just as things start picking up at my job, now his has been shortened and not sure if I can make up the difference but it is what it is, you know? Things always work out in the end and it should be just until spring break, if not shorter. We'll see how it goes.

That's it on my end. It's a nice 73 outside but very humid or else I could open up the windows.

Party food

We made these during the Super Bowl and now we made them again to take to the Krewe Fish Fry tomorrow. I got them (and the picture) from Pioneer Woman just so you know. I'm disclosing this cause she's like a very famous blogger. Anyway, these are the bomb. We watched TV and put 50 of these together. Okay, I ate two raw, sans bacon. They're easy to make and totally delicious. Just three ingredients too...jalapeno peppers, bacon and cream cheese.

Vitamin B12 shots

Anyone still get these? I used to get them years ago and lately I've been considering having one. I've been run down feeling the last two weeks. Years ago, I was severely anemic. Go figure, I always thought anemic people were skinny but no such luck in that department. Anyway, I called our doctor and he does it. I just have to get the energy to go down there. I had to reschedule my gym update appointment because I just feel bad. I was wondering if anyone still gets these and if they work. I know they do on some people really well. Back when I saw the allergist they swore by them and always gave me one when I'd come in for my allergy injections. I think it's time to try one again.

Books...grrr

I went to get my books again yesterday at the FSU bookstore and guess what, they aren't taking grants or loans yet so I still couldn't pick them up. I have to try again next Monday. I swear, I've never waited this long to get books that I recall. Oh well, at least it's close by. LOL

One handy remote

Imagine having just one remote. Yamaha neoHD lets you do just that. We have tons of remotes; from our PS3, Xbox 360, DVD changer, TV, cable, surround sound and more, it can be a pain at times. Just using the cable box requires the Bose remote, the TV remote and the cable remote. That can be annoying but with the Yamaha neoHD there’s no need for all those remotes, you can do everything with one easy to use remote. Why worry with finding each individual one when you can use just one remote? Wouldn’t that make life simpler? I’ve included a picture of my many remotes so you can see for yourself how bad we need the Yamaha neoHD. See how many I have in a big stack? The Yamaha neoHD can eliminate that stack and give you more control over your life. Check them out and see if you don’t realize how handy this innovative remote is.

With the Yamaha neoHD Sweepstakes you can win your own by Tweeting: “I just entered to win a #neoHD b/c I have too many remotes, visit the Izea blog for rules or enter via their blog. You can leave comment on why you desperately need to use just one remote. You can also find them on Facebook as well.

Chronic Pain

I really have a deep sympathy for those in chronic pain. I hurt my back like 2 months ago. I'd have to look to see exactly when it was but it's been at least that. It's just now healing to where it hasn't hurt that bad in 3 days. I feel a slight pain here and there but nothing like before. It was awful at times. Some days it hurt to do anything other than lie down and rest. Walking hurt, sitting hurt, etc. I actually went to Sam's Club the other day and it didn't hurt and Sam's and Home Depot are the worst on my back when it's hurting. I can't imagine going through life with pain that just won't go away. I was honestly considering a chiropractor if it didn't get better. I first thought of all kinds of horrors since I didn't feel it when I actually hurt it like you sometimes do. I was thinking of the guy on Rescue Me who had a backache and it was cancer. I do that though, think the worst and self-diagnose. LOL Finally it's getting better. I just hope it continues to heal at this rate.

A quiet season so far

It's been a quiet hurricane season so far. I'm totally grateful too. I do have to say that I do like the small storms, just the ones that you have to prepare for but all you get is a little wind and rain. Those are fun to me and as long as no one gets hurt or loses property then I don't mind them at all. I did see that there were a couple near California though. That's odd since it's usually the Atlantic and Gulf that's busy, not the Pacific. Anyway, we still have till Nov but so far so good. I sure don't want another year like the one where there were 4-5 major storms and FL was devastated, not to mention Katrina, etc.

Bartering

I've recently discovered the lost art of bartering. In today's economy it has come in handy. Not everyone has the money to spend on luxuries and while I consider a website a must, some can't afford one right now. However, I love trading things. I recently traded an ad and some other stuff for a site. What I'm really looking for is yard work traded for a site. I had one guy call me but he hasn't called back and I really want someone professional, not someone who'll call then never hear from them again. In the past I traded dog training for a site so it really does work out good sometimes. I think more people should use bartering, especially with a lot of people struggling for money lately.

Custom wedding invitations

If you are planning a wedding and are looking for custom wedding invitations I have just the place for you. Just click on the link and view the gorgeous wedding invitations available. There’s a variety of the most beautiful designs and colors so any bride to be can find a unique invitation that shows off her individuality. My personal favorites are Special Soiree and Clear Skies Ahead. I especially liked the beach scene in Clear Skies Ahead because I love beach scenes and they’d be perfect for a beach wedding. Why not make your wedding invitations as special as your wedding will be? You can find it all and get it at affordable prices as well so why not browse what they have to offer?

Two movies tonight

I got two movies today from Netflix. I have Confessions of a Shopaholic and Obsessed. I hope they're good. I doubt either will be Oscar winners but I think they might be fun at least. Besides, not much comes on Tuesday nights so we should have time to at least watch one of them. I want to go to the gym if I can tonight and maybe try to get the books at FSU. We'll see.

Wildwood vacation

If you’re looking to visit New Jersey Water Parks this summer, then I have the place for you! This summer from the end of June until the end of August, in Wildwood, New Jersey at Morey’s Piers there’ll be the Radio Disney Summer Concert Series and along with there being some of the top Radio Disney artists there, it’s also free. If you’re looking for a New Jersey vacation, Morey’s Piers is the place to find all of your accommodations and with Morey’s Pier’s new redesign, you can find things easily with its interactive and easy to navigate site. Morey’s Piers is a great place for a “New Jersey Vacation” and their website is the place to find hotels & motels in Wildwood.

Things I wish I had

I wish I had the following:

-a maid
-a personal assistant
-unlimited funds (LOL don't we all?)
-a genius IQ
-a home trainer
-a personal chef
-a landscaper

I guess a lot of people wishes they had those things. Those are the things I think would make life so much easier but who knows, perhaps it wouldn't. Yet, I'm very thankful for what I do have. :)

Get campus ready

This post was sponsored by Sears. All the opinions are mine. Does your child or someone you know need to be CampusReady? Sears has a great way of finding what you need. With “shop by dorm room” you can see your dorm in 3D before you even arrive on campus! I think that is so neat! They even have an area of coordinating dorm room products so you can match things up and it includes ideas for decorating. And with the handy checklist, you’ll be sure to remember everything you’ll need. There’s financial tips and financial planning tips so you can also keep up with the money that you’re spending and that is a must when planning for college. I especially like this idea. And to top things off you can find apparel ideas and there’s even links to the types of clothes you or your child will need when going to college. Sears has everything ready for the college experience to ease the transition and with CampusReady on Facebook there’s a Facebook application that is easy to use and a great tool to have!

Don’t forget to enter to win money towards your child’s tuition from Sears and Upromise where you can win up to $25k. Upromise members are automatically entered with a sears.com purchase through Upromise.com, or enter free at sears.com/campusready. See sears.com/campusready for full rules and complete details.

Summer Hours Indeed

I waited till today to go to the FSU Bookstore because R likes to go with me and check out the FSU products while I pick up my books. Both their site and the sign on the wall reads that they are open until 7:00 PM but when we went today they were closed. Turns out they have summer hours. Granted, I have until the end of the month almost but geez, an updated schedule would have been nice because I could have left the house earlier and not messed around thinking I had plenty of time. Oh well, it gave me a Starbucks run excuse (not that I need those often).

E`s Most Shocking Hollywood Murders

Watched this over the weekend while flipping channels. I had missed number 19 and 20 so hopefully I can catch it on a repeat again. If only I hadn't stopped on Stepbrothers to see what the fuss was about and the fact that the neighbor had a Belgian Malinois. Anyway, it was very riveting (this show, not Stepbrothers). It had the murder of Dominique Dunn, John Lennon, Rebecca Shaefer, the OJ trial, the Wonderland murders, the Menendez Brothers, the Manson murders and bunches more. Black Dahlia too. I can't seem to find it on any schedule so I'll have to catch it another time it looks like. If you get a chance and that kind of thing interests you, it's a great show.
