Sponsors and Advertisers Are an Integral Part of Media

Why are sponsors and advertisers an integral part of media? Well, think about it for a minute. If you blog then you know how important it can be to be seen by others and sometimes that happens through sponsored ads and advertisers. It’s a tradeoff where maybe you put an ad up in exchange for more viewership or a form of compensation. In another way it can be as simple as trading a link with another blogger that helps you out with more incoming links; which means you get ranked higher on the search engines.

So when you click on an ad or register for a promotion, you’re essentially helping another blogger out and in turn, helping the entire blogging industry out. Now this doesn’t mean you have to click every ad you see on someone’s blog but let’s say it’s something you’re already interested in. If so, why not click it from their site so that person gets some kind of credit for it or compensation? You’re simply looking at what you wanted to browse in the first place and it helps someone else out if you decide to complete your purchase.

How Has the Gulf Oil Spill Affected Me

I was asked recently how the Gulf oil spill affected me and that's a hard one. It was such a horrendous event. On one hand I didn't have it as hard as some people, especially those that are fisherman or depend on the Gulf of Mexico for their livelihood. On the other hand though, it affected almost everyone here. I live in Panama City, Florida and we depend on the Gulf for a lot of things, one of those being tourism.

Once the news hit the media people were bailing out of coming here left and right. Sure, some still came but our tourism here took a huge hit as did tourism in other states affected. Even though we did not have oil on our beach, just a few tar balls here and there, it trickled down to everyone. I lost business myself. I had a photo shoot to do that was canceled and there were a few businesses that actually closed so no websites either.

The point is, it doesn't matter who you are or what you do. If you live near the Gulf of Mexico then the oil spill affected you in some way or another.

Bowl Sinks

I’ve said it before, I love the glass sinks! Whenever we look at a Topmount Sink I always want one of the bowl type glass sinks because they are just so darn innovative looking. We almost got one before and ended up buying something else but we always look at them.

Anyway, I found this place that has Topmount Sinks and all kinds of sinks and faucets. Not only do they have same day shipping that is offered, they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau and have super prices. Of course I went to look at the bowl sinks and found a few I like.

Voice Recognition

I got this super cool program that does speech to text. I guess most computers have this program but I just didn't know it. I only found out when I was reading about some of the other freelance writers using voice recognition software and happened to see that windows 7 has it then someone else tell me that Vista and XP has it. Anyway I'm using it now Mr. Eakle. As you can see, there are a few issues because you have to train it to understand your voice and as you might have noticed the end of the last sentence it typed Mr. Eckel whatever that means. I left it there because I thought it was funny. Anyway when I have time I plan to start using it more so I can train it because a lot of the other freelance writers say that it works out great for them because they just talk and it types and it's easier. We will see.

Get a Free BellyBag if You're Pregnant

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

Right now there's a special deal available for women that are pregnant. If you request a packet and consult with an advisor at  www.Cryo-Cell.com then you get a free BellyBag. www.Cryo-Cell.net is a company that allows you to bank your baby's cord blood in case it is needed later. This can be for a number of reasons such as disease where you specifically need your baby's blood available. It's a groundbreaking way of harvesting and preserving stem cells in a way that isn't controversial and is certainly non-invasive and all you have to do is inquire about the service by consulting with a friendly advisor and requesting more information.

Imagine the peace of mind knowing that your baby's stem cells are available to be used or even there to find out about future cures of disease that isn't possible with them. While stem cell research has been in the news before, this is a way of getting them that doesn't involve anything that hurts your baby or even touches your baby; it's all taken from your baby's umbilical cord and your baby will never even know.

Hulu Plus Saved Me

Why does every show I want to watch have to come on during Wednesday night? Other nights have shows too but nothing like Wednesdays where so many things conflict.

For instance, tonight at 7:00 PM is American Idol and Survivor. But soon America's Next Top Model starts if it hasn't already; I wouldn't know because it conflicts with those!

At 8:00 we have American Idol (still), Criminal Minds and Modern Family at 8:30. Then at 9:00 there's the new Criminal Minds, Law and Order SVU and Off the Map.

Luckily with Hulu Plus I can watch Modern Family, Law and Order and Off the Map whenever I choose. You have to have a TV that has internet capability but it's worth it. By the way, none of these shows come on OnDemand so it's not like we can do it that way. At least this helps out a ton even if I have to wait a day to see them.

Designer Sunglasses

If you love designer sunglasses like I do then you’ll love bvlgari sunglasses. Not only are the prices awesome but the style is outstanding. I especially liked the ones I’m sharing a picture of; they’re gorgeous and they’re 40% off! What more could you want?

The site is easy to navigate and I love that the entire description is available as well as social networking share buttons so I can share them with others. In fact, you can even e-mail it to a friend meaning I can share a pair with my husband and give him a few hints on what I like. Check out the site and the gorgeous sunglasses.

I'm annoyed

Today it's super nice outside with sunny skies and 60 degrees. Can I leave my door open though? No I can't because the dogs keep attacking the fence to try to get to the dogs in the yard behind us. It sucks that I can't enjoy this beautiful weather because my dogs are being a pain in the neck but if I open it back up I have to listen to barking, growling and snarling and worry that they might find an area where they can actually tear through. Maybe the dogs behind us will go in soon. One can only hope.

I have to change this title because...

...my post is about vomit on television and that's just not cool. Why is it that every single night we can see someone throw up on television? I'm not kidding. We actually have a running joke about whether or not we'll see vomit tonight. It grosses me out more than anything (other than spitting) and yet there it is in my movies and television shows. Case in point: I watched I Spit on Your Grave 2 the other day and there were about 10 episodes of vomiting. Okay so you are saying I asked for it; just look at the title of the movie. But last night we watched House and that too had someone throwing up. I can watch just about anything and see it. I guess they used to not be able to show it and now they can so there it is. Remember when Survivor wouldn't show someone throwing up after eating fish testicles or something? Now they do as far as I recall and if they don't it doesn't matter because every other show or movie has someone hurling up their food, which just totally grosses me out. Show me nudity or cursing, anything but vomit.

New Spa

Our old spa tore up some time ago so we gave it away. A friend I used to work with was selling hers and posted it on Facebook. The price was way too good to pass up. In fact, it was less expensive than our other one and that one was like 20 years old or something. This one was $6400 when they bought it 3 years ago. We paid like a tenth of that or something. Y'all know I can't math!

We don't have it filled up yet because Rich has to get the cord longer and wire it up and all but here is the picture she sent me originally and when we get it running I'll take pictures. Can't wait to start using it. I loved ours before.

HMS Home Warranty

Here I am again talking about an HMS Home Warranty but seriously, people need an HMS Home Warranty in case of an emergency. For instance, what if your refrigerator went out? Or how about your heating in the winter or cooling in the summer? I know right now the mid-west is having awful storms with snow and ice and if your heating went out while living there you’d really be up a creek without a paddle. Or I should say, in an ice storm without a heater. That’s why an HMS Home Warranty can really help you out. Just make a call and someone will come out; it’s that simple.
