Alfonso Fanjul

Alfonso Fanjul was born in Cuba and became quite successful here in the United States and in Cuba before Castro took control and seized many people’s assets, including the assets of Alfonso Fanjul. After seeking political asylum in New York, he began sugar milling and is now the director or Florida Sugar Cane League and the Florida Sugar Marketing and Terminal Association, a founder of Biscayne College, and a trustee of Palm Beach Day School. He’s active in all aspects of the sugar cane business and his family is supportive of a variety of projects that help others. Included are such projects as the United Way and Good Samaritan Hospital.
