Are You Trying To Build A Money Making Website

Sometimes people think you can just build a new website and the traffic is going to automatically come to it.  This is simply not the case.  You have to do something to advertise your website.  It is kind of like someone opening a store on a dead end street and not even so much as hanging a sign on the front.  If you don’t have a sign and you’re on a dead end street anyway, then it is unlikely that many people are going to find it.  You could even have the best deals on earth.  It still won’t matter.

Do yourself a favor.  If you want to have a website that actually gets traffic then you either have to take the time to learn how to advertise your website or else you have to outsource the advertising to somebody else.  It doesn’t matter as much which methods you actually choose to promote your website so long as you actually do something.  You can write articles, comment on blogs, comment of forums, buy banner advertising or buy some other kind of web based advertising.  All of those methods work to some degree.  Once you have a little bit of a regular readership, you won’t have to do quite as much.  Until then you had better make every effort to get the word out.
