Alfonso Fanjul
Alfonso Fanjul was born in Cuba and became quite successful here in the United States
and in Cuba before Castro took control and seized assets from many citizens,
including those of Alfonso Fanjul. After seeking political asylum
in New York, he began sugar milling and is now heads the Florida Crystals Corporation, a founder of Biscayne College, and a trustee of Palm Beach
Day School. He’s active in all aspects of the sugar cane business and
his family is supportive of a variety of projects that give to others that are less fortunate.
Included are such projects as being the founding members of New Hope Charities, and being involved with Amigos of the Cuban Heritage Collection and the Roberto C. Goizuefa Pavilion, with the Fanjul Gallery.
