Alfonso Fanjul is a successful entrepreneur in Florida and is the director of Florida Sugar
Cane League and the Florida Sugar Marketing and Terminal Association, a founder
of Biscayne College, and a trustee of Palm Beach Day School. Alfonso Fanjul came to the
United States from Cuba after his assets were seized, along with countless
others, by Fidel Castro after Castro took control. He sought political asylum
in New York and started on his journey of the sugar milling trade. He is still
active in everything to do with his sugar cane business and helps others with
the projects he supports such as United Way and Good Samaritan Hospital.
