With the cold weather in most of the country, even here in Florida, it may seem too early to think about swimming pools - unless you have a heated one. However, it's never too soon to check out awesome things for your summer fun and here is one, the Lifetime 1301 swimming pool basketball hoop.

Where to Find the Earned Income Credit Table

We've never qualified for the Earned Income Credit since we don't have children and have always made more than the minimum requirements but we have a lot of friends that do. If you are wondering where to find the earned income credit table, you'll have to check out this article that really helps you learn more about it and how to qualify - or if you do.

For instance, here is the regular credit table but this does not actually give you all of the information you need since there are specifics that you need. For that, check out the link - but this is a general guideline.

You definitely want everything that is coming to you so check out the link and see if you qualify for the EIC (Earned Income Credit) and recoup some of the money you've spent over the year.

No eligible children $14,590 ($20,020 if married and submitting together)
1 eligible child $38,511 ($43,941 if married and submitting together)
2 or more eligible children $43,756 ($49,186 if married and submitting together)
3 or more eligible children $46,997 ($52,427 if married and submitting together)

Making a Murderer

I usually eat these type of documentaries up but I think I'll have to watch this one again. Now I always watch shows while working and can usually pay attention but I'm having a harder time doing so.

This does not mean that I'm not enjoying the show but it's not quite as engaging to me as say, the Paradise Lost series.

However, with Netflix I can watch it again and again so I do think I'll get into it more by checking it out again.

Making a Murderer is available streaming on Netflix and I imagine it'll hang around a while since it's so popular.

How to Get More Homeowner Tax Deductions

Tax season is right around the corner again and if you're a homeowner than you probably want to know how to get more homeowner tax deductions - I mean, who wouldn't?

For instance, the average American saves almost $2K in deductions each year so why not get in on some of that?

Here is one tip but you'll have to check out the link to find out the others and believe me, you don't want to miss out!

"Points on home mortgage and refinancing: If you purchased a home in 2014, in addition to MID, which might be smaller if you bought later in 2014, you can most likely write off both the origination and discount points on your tax returns. 1% of the principal loan amount is equivalent to 1 point. In the eyes of the IRS, points are seen as prepaid interest. You will have to determine if you get to deduct all the points at once or if you have to spread the costs throughout the life of the mortgage. According to the IS if you purchased your first home or got a mortgage to purchase that first home, you can take all the deductions at one time. For refinance on the first home or a second home, it will probably have to be spread out, according to the IRS. If you don’t meet all the criteria to get the deduction upfront, it will have to be spread out over the mortgage life span. Check out the IRS’ guide called Tax Information for Homeowners for more details."

We can all use extra money and especially with being a homeowner. I know personally that every time we turn around, there's something else to fix so we can use all we can get.
